This was my second trip to Medellin. I don’t post much, but have a fair amount of experience in Argentina, Western Canada, and SEA. I stayed at Casa Blanca (Medellin Mansion). Based upon the recent negative reviews, I almost didn’t. However, I enjoyed staying at the Mansion and the report will focus on that experience. For mansion “haters” you have a right to your opinion just as I do. For everyone else, just take this as one data point. In general, I think the Mansion is a great option and a huge asset for the monger community.

In general, I would say that reports of the Mansion’s decay and demise are greatly exaggerated. The number and quality of girls who were buzzing around seem in line with past posts. On Sunday, the mansion staff put together a really good BBQ (all you can eat BBQ chicken, ribs, steak, sausage with potatoes, corn for $15 USD). Between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. there were between 8-15 girls lounging around, eating, and drumming up business. I recognized only about 1/3 of the girls from my last trip. Most other afternoons there were some (2-6) girls at Happy Hour.

The staff also was very good at helping guests hook up with girls outside of Happy Hours. It is as simple as looking through their photo menu and then they will use your phone to call. However, it was definitely hit or miss regarding whether the girls picked up or not. Like a lot of guys, I do enjoy going out and then eating what I kill. However, it is nice to have the option, at 10 p.m., to arrange take-out delivered fresh and hot to your room. The other plus of the mansion girls is that it is a little easier to figure out what they may be like by hanging out with them for awhile.
One of the best things about the Mansion is that there are always a wide variety of hobbyists with lots of different experiences. You can not only learn a lot about the scene in Medellin, but also about other destinations. Of course, there are assholes anywhere and some of them definitely show up at the Mansion.

In general, the mansion guests seem to help each other out and you definitely can save some money on taxis, etc. and also provide yourself a little more security by going out in a group.

I have never witnessed Greg’s dark side. However, I know that he has drawn a lot of criticism and I am sure that he can probably get off the reservation. Only thing I would say is that the rest of the staff is one of the most friendly and helpful group of professionals that I have run into in my travels. Beyond that, when I arrived for my first stay the mansion, Greg walked me down to Oviedo to exchange money. We had a coffee and talked about Medellin. Couple days later, he offered for me to go with him to look at an apartment he was interested in since he knew I am seriously considering a mid-life retirement for a few years in South America. YMMV, but he went beyond the call of duty with me.

My gut feel is that many of the “haters” have never ran a business before. I have done some sailboat chartering and can tell you that it does get old catering to folks, some of whom simply CAN NOT be pleased. Took a group out one time to see whales. We saw three and got very close as we hung out with them for a couple hours. My clients pretty much pouted the entire sail back because they had expected to see more or maybe scratch their bellies.

When at the Mansion, I suggest just having the staff stock the fridge in your room with beer, water, whatever. You can walk down to the grocery in Oviedo mall (down low and in the back of the mall). But you won’t save much $’s.

I do have some constructive criticism for the Mansion
- The linens definitely need to be upgraded for the amount of money paid for the rooms.
- Bathrooms (especially the shared bathroom between #3 and #4) needs some work
- They didn’t have towels available one day because the washer was down. Not too hard to increase inventory of towels/linens so that that doesn’t become an issue for the guests
- Consider doing more quality BBQs, with something other than just hotdogs. I think most guests would pay it and that is an inducement for the girls to show up.
- Punch up the breakfast a little more. Maybe just have buffet with scrambled eggs, sausage, roasted potatoes. Or just have more options available if a buffet is too hard.
- Fix the Jacuzzi already…can’t be that difficult.
- I wish the girls had name tags. Lot of energy to talk to every girl and get her name. Would be nice to be able to quickly put a name to a face and to their reputation as told by the other mansion guests. However, might be a little weird for the girls.
- Would love to see the Down Under Group open up a small finca hotel where there would be more privacy so that some real partying could take place. I think it would be a blast to take a girl or two there (or just have some available) for some naked water polo, etc.

In summary, I can see why the Mansion isn’t for everyone. There are definitely some great deals on Penthouse apartments (3-4 bedrooms for $100/night). However, the Mansion makes a great support base of operations for a newbie and even a good choice for more experienced guys. For my next trip, gonna get a couple friends to come down to rent a penthouse for a week, but will stay at the mansion for maybe 3 days before to help get the lay of the land and pick up some numbers.

Overall, I am very glad that the Mansion exists and I hope it will be in business, in one form or another, for quite some time.

Prices seem around $150K for short time. Arranged a couple all-nighters for $250K COP. Sounds like some will take $200K COP for TLN.

I did a few casas. Prices are definitely right at like $30K-$40K COP per half hour. If you go near lunch time, you need to be aggressive and pull the trigger quickly. Don’t wait for someone to take your order, go up to the handler and let them know who you want to be with. I went there in the day and it was fun to walk around the area and felt very safe, at least on the main streets.

As far as clubs, have been to most of them between this and the last trip. My favorite remains Maracaibo in El Centro. There are two other clubs within 100 feet of Maracaibo, I have found that Executivo tends to be better than Americana. Talent varies, but pretty good dancers and price is good at about $60K COP for a half hour. I am also a pretty big fan of San Diego show and that place has no cover and $80K-$100K COP for 30 mins. Good hotdogs and hamburger stands outside the club on the weekend nights.

Face Dos has talent, but price is very high at $170K for an hour. One guest did take-out for a girl for an all-nighter. Paid $170K for the bar fine (salida). I don’t care for the place as both the management and the talent seem like they are doing you a favor to take your pesos.

Street scene: shit is just scary. Drove around with Fernando and a couple other mansion guests. For me, it is like Lion Country Safari….see if only from the safety of your own car. Yep, the price is like $7.50 USD. However, the potential downsides of the deal are pretty significant.

Mayorista: Went their twice with some wingmen. Not sure I’d go there alone. However, was pretty animated on the weekends and lots of cops walking around. This is as far on the wild side as I care to get. Had two girls and both of them were outstanding. I think the Product helps in that respect.

Other stuff:

-Parque Lleras ain’t the in place to be anymore. Went to Hooter s there, very fun.
-La Strada mini-mall near the mansion appears to be where the elite come to meet. Good restaurants, but pricey
- I think there are some good food options to be had in Oviedo mall
- You can always have a staff member, like Sebastian, call out for restaurant or other deliveries
- You can have generic Viagra delivered to the mansion for about one dollar per 50 mg chewable pill. I think you need to order maybe 10 boxes (= 40 pills = $80K COP).
- A few guests when paragliding and loved it. Great thermals.

Although it didn’t hit me last trip, I had altitude sickness for about 36 hours. Had a bad headache, nausea, and just no energy. Tylenol helped, but I think it just took time to get acclimated. Talking to other guests, this seems to be pretty common. This is one of about 136 reasons to stay at least a week in Medellin, if at all possible.

Name tags on the girls? Now that is fucking funny. Only in this assemblance of social misfits would I hear of guys requesting freelance hookers to place nametags on themselves. Maybe an iphone app with girls names and ratings? Lol. Some guys just want things spoon fed to them like going to a grocery store or buying a book on amazon.com.

Surprised you felt that Mayorista seemed dangerous. Guess your experience in mongering is limited. Seemed pretty nice to me actually.

Don’t I know it… Having a sales back ground, I can tell you I have NO tolerance for those types and have no problem telling them to go fuck themselves ( literally using those words ) … I have lost many a client that way.. Usually it works out for the better though.. In the time I take trying to make one of those happy, I can make 3 who aren’t like that happy.. That equals more money in my pocket…

Well, reading comprension is a plus in life. I did not say that I felt that Mayorista was very dangerous, but that I wouldn't go with the street action (33/53) because I found that too dangerous. I guess Mayorista seems a little dangerous because probably(my estimate) 75% of the girls down there are high on something. I am used to the street scene in TJ, so Mayorista doesn't seem like too much of a stretch to me. However, for someone who hasn't seen that part of the pay-for-play scene, than I think Mayorista would look a little scary at first glance. I think Mayorista should be part of the agenda for guys that come to Colombia, but newbies need to be prepared mentally for seeing whacked out people walking around and having and having your girl whip out a bag of coke and offer you some after she partakes. On my 2nd night I saw a black girl dragged by her dred-locks about maybe 25 feet and than kicked until she was pretty much unconcious. 2 members de la policia were maybe 50 feet away. Yeah, Mayorista has an element of danger to it, and that, in itself, can be a little exciting.

As I also said, won't be providing photos. There are lots on this site. Most of the girls that I did had breasts, minimal facial hair, longer hair on their heads, etc.

Yeah, I wish I knew the names of the girls to connect them with what their reputation is. However, probably of limited use this there are about 2-4 Johan's, Carolina's, Daniella's etc. that figure prominently on the boards.

As far as my experience, my gut feel is that I have a total of about 180 days in Buenos Aires, TJ, Vancouver, Victoria, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Brazil, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and lord knows how many in other parts of North America.

This report wasn't written for the experienced members of this board, because a lot of them already know everything.

I'm glad the mansion found a work around for girls present via the barbeques and it certainly sounds like a good time. I'm not sure when the "happy hour" is or if it even existed while I was there. Can you elaborate on that?

Also, not to be a hater, but with only 2-6 girls present at what I'm guessing is a certain time of day, plus the criticisms you mentioned, is the overall package worth the price?

Again not hating, but the mansion is not the slam dunk mongering spot some have made it out to be.

For what its worth though, The vets often do know what they are talking about and their cumulative experience has proved invaluable to me on at least one occasion… I wont talk about that much cause it’s a sore subject…

Not taking photos, I can understand...it can definitely be a pain in the ass and can take away from the experience.

I do appreciate the experience of the established guys on the board. I have learned a tremendous amount from them and lots of places I might never have gone without the up-front information provided on this board.

I guess I call happy hour the time from like 4 to 7 at the mansion. As far as the mansion being worth the price, don't know. If three guys share a penthouse, works out to maybe $40/day-person. Rooms here can go as low as about $70 USD/day, but then you get a fairly large staff to help you with pretty much everythig you need, and they ain't gonna blush whe it is a rainy night and you ask them to arrange outcall to your room.

As far as photos, I don't normally bring a camera. Plus, I am a big believer in not leaving a lot of proof that I was on a trip as I have a SO. Beyond that there are so many pictures of beautiful paisas on this board that I am not sure what a few amateur shots by me would add. Another guest here is doing some quality shoots with costumes, perhaps he will post. Plus, as Blazer says, it sort of can be distracting. However, the girls definitely seem to be into it as their egos in SA regarding their beauty are ginormous.

Think it is like 4:00 here, four chicas hanging out watching 3-D movies on a guy's computer and looking for action. I am answering work e-mails and then will see....

The iphone app is a good idea Blazers. One where you take a picture of the girl's face and it scans her reviews via facial recognition software to let you know what other guys thought of her... Did Cubanut bareback this one? Will this one agree to less than 150k? The options are endless.

To me the best thing about CB1 and CB2 is the comaraderie with fellow mongers. I speak Espanol reasonably well and I could go off on my own for less money, but I really like having fellow mongers around to hit the casas/clubs/restaurants with or to just socialize and share info.

However, if I came down with a group of 3 or 4 people, I would consider staying elsewhere.

It's a big world, and I haven't been back to the Mansion in a few years. I've tried twice but all that were available were the rooms with the shared bath. This tells me that they have a satisfied clientele. I've been around a little, but I've never experienced anything like the Mansion in other places. The management, the other guests the women and the city itself combine to make a unique experience. You have to realize that all they are guaranteeing is a room. The rest is up to you. But you are in one of the prime mongering destinations on the planet. I'm off to Cartagena next week. And 3 out of 5 of the women I will try to pick up will be from Medellin. Greg Robert and Boyd deserve a trophy from the chamber of commerce for the amount of cash that they have brought into that city.

I also brought a 3D laptop just for the fun of it. Most of the girls have never seen high quality 3d and it was great having 3 girls surrounding me on my bed in room 12 watching Monsters vs Aliens in 3D and in Spanish.

Kersuet123: I enjoyed reading your report. Actually if the hosts at the CB continue to refer the chicas as "English Students", I think your name tag idea is appropriate. Of course, it would only be fair that the hotel guests wear them as well so the chicas can learn their names also. It would be just like a mixer at any business conference!
