I'm in Cali now. I've been here the past 2 days. I typed up a monster report and a daily diary but I can't get my USB stick to work with this crappy computer that is running Windows '95 so I'll have to post it later. I have lots of thoughts on Cali in my report but for now I can tell you that I do like this city.

Cali will never be a major hobby destination. The US Government instills too much fear into Americans. I can honestly tell you to ignore the warnings. Cali is a very safe city as long as you don't stray outside of the city. The people are some of the friendliest I've ever met anywhere. The city to be blunt is...well ugly but the people make up for it with their hospitality and genuine warmth. I went to Flores Frescas last night and pulled out a hottie. Don't worry..I got lots of pictures. That place has some good talent. The key is not to be cheap there or you will be labled a cheap ass and the girls will avoid you like the plague. That is what happened to some of you if you're wondering why you didn't pull out girls. If they ask for the 150,000 pesos just pay it. You're basically haggling over $10 that will cost you a hot session.

It's not cheap there at $150,000 per hour plus the exit fee of $70,000 but my girl Evyln stayed 2 hours and I think she would have stayed much longer. She said the club was closing so she didn't have to go back but I was super tired so after the deed I sent her away. We are supposed to go on a dinner date on Sunday. She made me promise to call her.

I just had a monster 3 hour very GFE session with Nicole from Kaliente. Very sweet girl. We were both digging eachother. I knew I could have left but I bought her a drink and I had a RedBull so we could chit chat. It was a good move because we were making out like crazy and getting to know one another. Damn guys. I've been out all day since 9 AM. It's about 11:30 PM here and I am gonna shower then go out. The girls here are hotter than any other place I've been to including Brazil and Argentina. Walk around Chipe Chope mall on a Saturday night and you'll break your necks looking at all the hot girls.

The P2P scene is also great. Wait till you see some of these pictures. I'm having a problem because I have 3 dates tomorrow and not sure who to go out with. It's almost 3:30 AM here. Another one of my Floras Frescas girls left. Her body was hot but I thought her face would have been better but it's so dark in the club. I have a very detailed report but it's on my laptop. I brought a USB keychain stick but many of these computers here are Windows 95 so it won't work even after downloading the drivers from the Kingston website. The internet cafes might have newer computers but I'm using the one at my hotel. I have had very little downtime and haven't had a chance to hit an internet cafe.


I stand by my post that the Columbianas are the hottest girls on the planet. I mean there are plenty of hot Brasileras and Argentinas but percentage wise there are more hot girls here. Make no mistake, the city is kind of a dump. It's not beautiful. Sure there are nice neighborhood but almost every nice area is next to a crappy area. It's an anomoly. I hired a taxi the other day and paid $8 an hour for him to just drive me around the city for 4 hours. I went to nice areas, I went to poor areas. I went to the top of Cristo Rey. I'm sure must mongers coming here don't do that kind of thing but as I mentioned, I'm not just here to hobby. I've really enjoyed discovering new cultures and getting to know the people. You can't go to a country and just go to P2P places and get a handle on a city.

Frankly, Cali can't compare to BA or most other cities astetically. But the people here are so warm, genuine and it leaves you with a certain happy feeling. I'll post all of this in my report.

Starfe just changed my ticket for me with American. I'm staying another week. God, I can't stop thinking about this girl. There is this wholesome quality about her but on the other side she is just so sexy. Beauty pagent material. I was told during my massage she was 25. It was funny. I was getting my daily 1 hour full body massage and I asked the lady if my girl was married. She said no. I think here as long as you aren't married you are fair game. I asked if her parents liked him and she quickly said, "NO!" She went to Bogota early this morning with her parents but she's coming back on Tuesday night and she made me promise to call her.

If she had a rich dealer boyfriend she wouldn't be working in this type of job. I'm not scared. Cali is NOTHING to be scared about. I walk alone at night although I probably wouldn't recommend it.

Today is Sunday and I'm really tired only having slept 4 hours. I have 3 girls that want to do something today. Sh*t. I told 3 of them I'd call them so I have to decide who to see. Today I might take a tour in the mountains. I heard it might be a little dangerous but I hear it's beautiful. Rigo thinks I should ask Evelyn the first girl from Flores Frescas. My final comment for this post. If you can speak some Spanish go up to a girl and talk to her. Tell her you think she is beautiful. Ask if she has a boyfriend. Whether you are in a restaurant, cafe, club, walking down the street. You really have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If you're in the late 20's to late 30's range you will have a good shot here. I'm not sure about guys older than that. Generally most of these girls are young. I haven't seen any hot girls walking around with anyone older than 30's. Even at Chipe Chope. Most of the girls are with younger guys. That doesn't mean it's not possible but these people really take care of themselves. I've seen very few slobs. Generally a girl takes great care of herself and she will demand that the guy she is with looks good too. You may think to yourself yeah but I have money. Well, let me tell you money isn't everything.

Here is my report so far.

I had an uneventful journey although during the descent to Cali it was very turbulent. I was flying upfront so I was the first to go through customs. It was very quick and easy with no lines. Something interesting here is they don’t stamp your passport with a traditional stamp. It’s fed through a computer and imprinted on your passport page. Kind of like a deposit receipt at the bank.

After customs you go downstairs and get your bags if you checked luggage. If not, you simply go through the final security area and hand them your papers. I wasn’t checking luggage so I was the first one out. There are lots of people waiting outside for their friends and family members arriving. It kind of reminded me of Cuba.

My driver was waiting for me. I knew I could simply take a taxi from the airport but Rigo from my hotel told me he’d arrange it if I wanted. I asked the price and he said $19. I’m sure it was a little more than simply taking it but what’s $2? It was actually nice to have someone there ready waiting for me and that took my bags. It’s comforting after a flight.

The ride to the hotel was quick and easy. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Take some time to learn some basic Spanish. This is another country where the vast majority of the people speak no English. I could communicate well with my taxi driver and he was pointing out certain areas. Upon arrival I meet Rigoberto or “Rigo”. He’s a great guy as others have mentioned. His English is perfect as he formally lived in the US. He has a very genuine outgoing character and we got along well. I’d highly recommend the Hostel San Fernando.

I got a room with an American style mattress. It’s nothing to write home about but I was able to sleep a few hours last night so that’s a relief. The pillows aren’t that great though so you may want to pack your own. The place is quaint and nothing fancy. It’s like the high end casa particulars (apartments) in Cuba.

I took a shower and changed and Rigo said he was going to Flores Frescas (FF) with this other dude and asked if I wanted to go. I was going to go there anyway so I went with them. I heard FF is the nicest place in town with the hottest girls. I didn’t know what to expect but so far everyone was friendly that I met. It’s a multiple story building and the club is on the top floor (3rd). There is a big stage with chairs and couches around it. The room was very dark though. The entrance fee here is 15,000 pesos. Beers were 5,000 pesos. I think RedBulls might have been 10,000 or 15,000 pesos. I can’t remember.

There are definitely some cute girls here. I’d say the majority were 7’s and 8’s with an occasional 9. To be honest, I expected better though. The club had a good upbeat feel to it. We got there before the nightly lesbian show. Around 11 PM the girls all dance on the stage or around it so the guys can see their bodies and get a better look at them. There is also more light so this is your chance to take a good look at them. If you want them to do a little mini-lap dance you can call them over. Give them like 2,000 pesos as a tip or 5,000 if you really like her. If you want to see her after their dancing just ask her. “Te gustaria beber algo conmigo despues bailando”? (would you like to drink something with me after dancing). You might want to get some small bills before coming here. I didn’t have many but luckily I always carry around a lot of $1 bills.

This is definitely not the place you want to be cheap in. It’s evident right away these girls will shut you down fast and hard if you’re cheap. I saw some Americans haggling with some girls and after that I saw that none of the girls would even look at the guys. If some of you had problems here before that might be the reason why. My philosophy is at the more upscale places you can expect to pay more. Is haggling over $10 really worth it? I can’t believe so many guys I meet will give up sessioning with a hottie for very little money. They always say sh*t like “it’s the principle of the matter”. That is utter BS to me. Let’s be honest. You’re just being cheap and there is no shame in admitting it. Just say you don’t want to spend the money instead of making excuses. Remember the memories are truly priceless.

So the girls come out first in their bikinis, then around song and their clothes come off. At one point they are completely naked and you can see everything. There is nothing to hide. Many girls that looked good in their clothes all of a sudden didn’t look so hot. Honestly, I only saw maybe 2 girls I would session with. I like a thin girl with natural big breasts so that narrowed it down to one girl. Rigo told me that she could be a little cold until after she felt comfortable with you. He also told me not to be cheap with her as she would shut me down immediately. I told him I’ve been around a little and know how it works and I’m not cheap anyway.

Guys have to realize in some countries you do have to take control and can’t get scammed but there is a difference of not being scammed and being cheap. There are some places you can be cheap in. Places like this aren’t one of them.

After the girls paraded naked they put their clothes back on and the lesbian show started. The girls were not the hottest but it was an awesome show. The lesbo show made the show at places like Nuevo Estillo in Buenos Aires look like two girls trying to sell Girlscout cookies. These girls were going down on each other until they came. They were rubbing their pussies together vigorously, making out and sucking all over one another’s bodies. You name it. Then to taunt the visitors you see this strap on dildo sitting at the edge of the stage. Of course, after the suck fest there was a f*ck fest. One of the girls stapped on the dildo and they put a condom on it. The other girl started sucking the dildo. Then of course they start f*cking in multiple positions. It was a pretty good show.

In fact, most of the guys there were only coming for the show. I was amazed to see guys coming here with their girlfriends to watch the show. When I asked Rigo about this he told me there is not much to do in Cali so this is like an “artistic event” for them. Can you imagine taking your girlfriend back home to one of these “concerts”?!!

I’m always curious when I travel so I was asking Rigo a ton of questions. He’s a good guy full of a lot of knowledge about the scene here in Cali. I’d highly recommend you stay in his place. I knew I wasn’t going to pay a guide to take me around. Rigo is better than any guide anyway. He just came out and had a few drinks with me and another dude then left.

After the lesbo show the girls came around collecting money for tips. Keep this in mind if you tip. I gave the girl $3 because I thought they would share it. Then the other girl came around asking and I told her that I already gave the other girl $3. She said ok and walked away. Then Rigo told me that they don’t share tips so I flagged down the girl and gave her a buck too. I really think you guys should at least give each girl like 2,000 pesos or a buck each. It’s up to you.

None of the American or Columbian guys were making any moves for the girls. I flagged over the girl I really liked. She was thin with big natural breasts. Yum. “Evilyn” appeared shy at first. Maybe she is a little. 19 year old girl with one child. It seems like many of these girls already have kids. I talked with her and after staring in her eyes I knew I wanted to leave with her. It was only around midnight. I asked how much and she told me 150,000 pesos for one hour. I didn’t even counteroffer. Rigo told me the going rate was 100,000 – 200,000 depending on how hot the girl was. She was clearly the hottest girl here. Plus you have to pay the house an exit fee of 70,000 pesos. Some guys were speculating earlier if it’s 50 or 70k. They told me 70k and I was with Rigo so I doubt they’d try to con us.

You have to settle up your bar bill then they charge the exit fee. I only had 4 20,000 bills and asked for change but the manager just said to pay 60,000 pesos. They called a taxi and I also had to pay the girl there in the club. At first I was a little reluctant to pay first but I did. 150,000 pesos.

When we got back I could get a better look at her in the light of my room. She was really a pretty girl with beautiful eyes. Very sweet. I had my Ipod with tons of music and speakers so we had music. (Special thanks to Seaman who guided me through the whole Ipod tips/tricks process). We both showered and something a little disappointing right off the bat is she didn’t allow deep kissing. I could respect that though. I don’t push it. My goal with these type of girls is to really get into their heads and want to give GFE. I snapped a few pics of her. It’s about 5:30 PM and I just got home. I’ve been out all day since this morning. Surprisingly I’m not overly anxious to hobby. Believe it or not I didn’t come just to hobby. I’ve been enjoying traveling around the world lately and just taking in new cities and cultures. Some of my friends tell me to slow down or that I’m over doing it. What they and others don’t realize is that traveling makes me happy. In general I think traveling makes all Americans happier. Most just don’t have it high on their list of priorities. It’s one of my top priorities now if you couldn’t tell already. I’m starting to understand and appreciate different cultures.

Cali isn’t going to win any beauty contests. The city isn’t beautiful at all. In fact, I can argue that it is one of the uglier cities I’ve been to around the world. Something that is redeeming about it is its citizens. People are so friendly here. It seems like whether you are black, white, American, European, Asian, etc. they accept and embrace you here as long as you respect them and aren’t an “ugly” tourist. Everywhere I go people are so polite. When I ask for directions, when I’m ordering food, when I’m buying something, the people are very friendly. I almost always here, “con mucho gusto” (with much pleasure). The thing of it is they really mean it!

The US State Department warnings can be ignored if you’re only visiting the city. I wasn’t nervous before coming but you hear so much you wonder what it’s really like. It’s no different than any other city I’ve been to. If you practice common sense and good judgment you’ll be fine.

These people take good care of themselves. The majority of the people are in great shape here. Even the men seem to take pride in their appearance. As others have mentioned there are a lot of esteticas around the city where people ‘get pretty’.

This morning I went to the supermarket near my hotel. I tried getting cash with my ATM card but it wouldn’t work at these 2 ATM’s near the supermarket. I had a few hundred $US that I went to the casa de cambio in the supermarket but they wouldn’t exchange it without my actual passport. I offered a photocopy since I never walk around with my passport but they wouldn’t accept it. The exchange rate was not that great at around 2550:$1. I think the official rate is around 2700:$1.

I bought some drinks and snacks as they accept credit cards there. When I came back it was still early so I had the maid make me some breakfast and then I planned to go get a normal massage. I ran into Rigo and he offered to exchange money at the same rate as the supermarket. I got $300 from him and planned to use the Bancafe at the mall. Rigo said others have had problems but the Bancafe ATM’s will work.

I went to an estetica not too far away. Most taxis are very cheap. It’s interesting how the taxis work here. All the taxis have meters but they don’t run a tab. Instead there is a number and it gets higher. That number corresponds to a price. The minimum cost is 2300 pesos. It can escalate up to 9,000 pesos on a very long journey to Unicentro Mall.

This place is a nice salon. It’s very big with a ton of staff sitting around waiting for customers. You can get haircuts, manicures, pedicures, massages, etc. here. I inquired about a massage and she said there was a 45 minute wait. I decided to get a manicure and pedicure while I waited. I’m sure you guys are snickering but it doesn’t matter to me. Occasionally I’ll get this done in South America. I like to take care of myself. Surprisingly so do several men here as there were several guys in here getting it done too. It was very cheap. I had them doing a manicure and pedicure at the same time. The two girls were nice. You can ask for Daisy. She did a good job. It was something like 15,000 pesos for the manicure and maybe 12,500 for the pedicure. I gave them 20,000 peso note to share as a tip and they seemed happy.

Then I went upstairs and got naked and got a full body massage from Gloria. She is the only “masaje terapeutico” there. She was really excellent. The cost was 25,000 pesos for 1 hour plus 5,000 for a ‘hot rock treatment’. She takes 2 extremely hot stones and rubs them on your body. I had the same thing done at another spa before except there it was something like $15 extra instead of 5,000 pesos. It was really relaxing. At first I felt kind of weird since there was no real draping. The washcloth sized towel fell off and my boys were just hanging out there. It’s ok. Luckily I’m not shy.

I told her I’d come here every day I’m here for a massage. I gave her a 20,000 peso bill and told her that was her tip for today and tomorrow. I made a 1 hour appointment for tomorrow too. I know some guys have something against tipping people for good services. I don’t and I could do without the smart ass comments. I’ve always been this way and probably always will be. It’s not automatic but if the service is good it’s kind of nice to brighten someone’s day by giving them a nice tip. I’ve always thought to myself how I would feel if I were them.

After that I took a taxi to Chipe chopi Mall. It was kind of a hike. I think the taxi fare was something like 9000 pesos. It is a maze of stores on one level. You walk in an open-air mall. I didn’t find the clothes for men to be that great. It can’t compare to clothes in Brazil and stores like Yachtsman in Rio Sul mall. However, there are many stores for girls. The jeans here for girls are amazing. Most girls walking around are wearing jeans. No one is wearing shorts and I didn’t even though it’s warm out. I don’t like completely standing out.

It’s not too crowded on a Friday afternoon. I heard the weekends are packed and I’ll come back tomorrow to do some shopping. I took a taxi to Unicentro mall. This mall was even further away. Traffic was very heavy since it’s the end of the month and a Friday so everyone is getting paid today. The taxi driver was really friendly and we talked the whole way. What you realize when you start to travel a lot is you realize not everyone is envious of Americans. Sure we have it good in the States but many of these people are content with their lives. People here in Cali seem very happy. They might not be wealthy but I guess money isn’t everything.

I arrived at Unicentro and it’s a little bigger than Chipe chopi mall. I was able to get 300,000 pesos from my ATM card and I figure I have plenty to get me by for tonight and tomorrow at least. I got something to eat and had a good BBQ ribs meal for something like 20,000 pesos with drink. There were two cuties and they kept looking over at me. I went to get some more napkins and then I asked them if they wanted some ice cream. (Yeah, I know kind of cheesy but it worked). One was hotter than the other. It looked like they got done working and they confirmed it later. They were wearing blue scrubs as they worked in the hospital.

It’s quite easy to meet non-pro girls here but I have to be honest. I’m only here a few days and I don’t really want to invest the time to nurture this type of relationship. I’m not looking for a girlfriend. I have no problems meeting normal girls in the USA or when I travel. After it was clear I was only attracted to one of them the hot one gave me her phone number. I’ll probably never call her but you never know.

It was pretty early but I wanted to walk around Cali and hit a few spots and clubs and see the town. I took a taxi to La Casa de las Cervesas and it was packed even at 9 PM. It was a Friday night though. I stayed and had a drink then I walked around. If you walk down the hill you’ll take a curve and at the bottom of the hill you’ll take a right and you’ll come across this area with tons of younger kids. Many are the hippie type but everyone was friendly. There was also a strong smell of pot in the air here. I guess the cops don’t care? I walked around that area some. I never felt unsafe at all but then again I’m kind of the adventurous type.

I decided to take a taxi to Chipe Chope mall to see how it is at night. It was packed and there were tons of people of all ages. Families, younger crowd and 30’s crowd. I looped around and just watched people. I got a lot of smiles and looks here. If you want to make an effort you can meet girls here. Go back and read Leo’s post from a while back. I agree with his assessment of the scene here. Except I will say the P2P scene is better than he described. For the amateur scene guys in their late 20’s to early 40’s will probably have an easier time as most of these girls are younger. I didn’t see any older guys with young girls walking around. It’s not like Cuba or Costa Rica where you see tons of this happening. Most of the pretty girls walking around with guys are with younger guys their age or a little older.

One thing I found a little reassuring I guess is many of the place carry around machine guys. The police here are serious and don’t look like they take sh*t from anyone. They all are in good shape. Not like some of the American cops that let themselves go and are out of shape. These guys are everywhere but especially in the shopping malls. Maybe because there are so many ATM’s here?

I took a taxi to Kaliente – Calle 25 Norte, No. 2 Bis-47, B. San Vicente. Telephone: 653-6832. Open 24 hours a day (except Sundays)

There is no cover charge here. It’s just a house and there is no sign that I saw. There are 3 guys standing outside that confirmed I was where I needed to be. There is a price list for drinks on the wall on the left as you enter. It’s a nice enough place with couches in the lobby. You sit down and girls come in one by one for selection. Kind of like the line up at 1707 Santa Fe apartment in Buenos Aires.

I didn’t know what to expect but I was quite pleased. They only had about 7 girls at about 10 PM but there was easily 3 I could have seen. I thought a girl named Nicole had the best attitude and her tits hanging out in her outfit didn’t hurt things too much. She is a pretty girl that has a lot of personality. I told the guy my selection and he went to get her. She was so giddy and she was so happy I picked her. If she was acting she deserves an Oscar and an Emmy award. We chatted and I had the option of leaving with her or having a drink. I knew I could have just left but I wanted to have a drink with her on her turf to just unwind and get to know one another. She as with every other girl spoke no English whatsoever. So if you can’t speak Spanish save the money and go back without drinking. A Red Bull and a Beer I think was 25,000 pesos.

You have the choice to see the girl on-site for 60,000 pesos for ½ hour; one hour for 80,000 pesos or taking her out for 3 hours for 180,000. Of course I took the 3 hour option and brought her to my place. We made out in the taxi the entire way. I would joke around and tell the taxi driver that I found my love and stuff like that. We were all cracking up.

We get back and this girl is super GFE. A great deep French kisser. I took a lot of pictures and she isn’t that photogenic because I saw the pictures and she looks prettier in person. She did know about the internet and told me that many Americans go to Kaliente from reading on the internet. She had no problems about me taking pictures and even mentioned “internet”? I just giggled.

I had an AWESOME session. BBBJ, DFK, sex in multiple positions for a long time. We ended up going two rounds and at times got a little carried away. You gotta be careful with these girls. Easy to think too easily with just your little head.

We talked about her work. Surprisingly the families of these girls know what they do. It’s not like some countries like Brazil or Argentina where the girls tell their families they work in a restaurant or “Bingo”. Their families know and don’t object. Probably more for the reason that these girls are basically supporting their family. It is great spending time with these girls but I try to understand all aspects of things.

The majority of girls that do this can never get ahead. The smart ones save up and buy property or save their money. Girls in Columbia seem to be in a rut of supporting their families. Kaliente might be nice and Nicole didn’t say anything negative about it but I think it’s kind of like a jail. The girls don’t know what they are getting into. They live there and they have to work 6 days a week. The place is open 24 hours a day. They work till like 10 in the morning then sleep till like 5 PM so they really don’t have time for a whole lot. Most of the girls working at Kaliente were from other smaller cities my girl told me.

After close to 3 hours I was drained. My girl and I were spooning and falling asleep. I told her I was gonna fall asleep and she probably would get in trouble if she did too. She told me they would call her and she wanted to wait the last possible moment. She left about 1 AM. I had to call 22 on my room phone as always. You see, you can’t exit without the owner or the staff opening the outside gate. Some might find this annoying but I like the safety of it. You can’t even call a taxi for a girl because they owner has to let them out anyway so they call a taxi for you. Taxi’s here are fast. Usually they are here within 5 minutes so don’t call until you are ready. She also gave me all her contact information.

I was surprised that Rigo was up and drinking outside on the patio with the other dude we went to Flores Frescas with the other night. My girl left and I sat out and we chatted about girls, life, Cali and everything else. I really like Rigo. He’s an honest guy that will do you right. If you need anything he is the guy to talk to. He like many in Cali seem to have a high quality of life. A quality of life that isn’t measured by how much money you have but the lifestyle. I know a ton of guys that could never begin to spend all the money they have but they slave away at their jobs always under pressure.

I’m sure I could make more money working harder but at this stage in my life it’s more important for me to experience new places and cultures. To “walk the earth”. I got this book about traveling around Europe by a guy named Rick Steves. He basically travels around on the cheap staying at hostels. I’m going to try some of his principles but I know I never could travel like he does.

Anyway, it’s still early. I got an early start on the day yesterday and was out and about all day. It’s only 8 AM and I’m going to go walking around. It’s Saturday so the nightlife should be good. I might go to the Cristo Rey statue on top of this hill and have a look at the city.


Dear Diary,

Today is Sunday. I had a very full day yesterday. I went out at 9 AM and didn’t come back till 10 PM and then I went out again and didn’t come back until 2:30 AM from Flores Frescas. I hired a taxi driver to take me to Cristo Rey and drive me around the city. It was $8 an hour which seemed like a bargain to me.

I went up to Cristo Rey but it was cloudy so it obstructed the view of the city. I could still see the city but it didn’t make for good photos. My driver Al was a good guy. He was bilingual and used to work in the USA. He had an interesting background. I asked him why he left the States and apparently he got into some drug problems and fled rather than face the charges. That was over 10 years ago so I’d assume the statute of limitations would kick in. He was an intelligent guy that got over a wicked drug problem. He seemed too intelligent to be driving around a taxi but he almost accepted it as a penance for all the bad things he did in the past. He married has a kid and appears to be happy. He doesn’t cheat on his wife which is probably difficult in a town with so many hot women.

We talked on top of the hill about Cali, USA and life in general. I had a massage appointment later in the day but I had him drive me around Cali so I could get a better picture of it. Cali is reported by the locals to have around 3.5 million people. It’s not a small city. It’s also not a very walk able city. Taxis are so cheap so it’s easy. The air isn’t that clean in the city. There is a lot of traffic most days and the fumes from all the buses, taxis and motorcycles cause a hazy mess.

I toured a community called Cristales. It had some nice houses and apartments. There were tons of them for sale. I guess several years ago many drug dealers bought houses there. They put in gold plated this and that. Spent millions on them. Some of them even have pools inside of them. But now those guys are either in jail or moved on so these houses are for sale for a fraction of what these guys spent on them. Who here can afford these kind of houses? Not many.

We drove around the city for hours. I was hungry so Al took me to another mall. I forget the name of it but it was smaller. We got some pastels which were pretty good. There is this chain of rapidos called El Locuro I think. There were several hot girls here too but Chipe Chope is THE place to go to be seen.

Al took me to my appointment and I saw my dream girl again. The receptionist from the other day. She is my ideal Columbian woman. Hell, she is my dream woman period. Great body, model quality face, big natural breasts, great smile. Just perfect! I wanted to talk to her the other day after my massage but she was gone already. I reasoned that she had to be married.

I went up for my massage and asked if this girl was married. Gloria told me no. She could tell that I was interested in her. I told her that I couldn’t stop thinking about her. I asked if she would mind calling down and finding out what time she worked until because last time she was gone. I guess she goes to lunch or break from 1 PM to 3:30 PM. The hottie asked why Gloria wanted to know and Gloria said that I wanted to know and that I wanted to talk to her. Hottie tells her that she is leaving at 1 but she’ll be back at 3:30 if I wanted to talk to her.

I had another awesome massage and I was surprised when hottie is still there. I paid my bill and gave Gloria another good tip. Then I talked to this girl. I could see everyone was looking at me but I didn’t care. I pulled her aside and asked her if she was married. She said no. I told her that I wanted to talk to her yesterday but she was gone already. She was kind of shy. Then I asked if she had a boyfriend and she didn’t seem to like this question. But I didn’t want a cap in my ass from some jealous boyfriend so I asked. She tells me that she does have a boyfriend. I asked if she was in love with him. She didn’t answer then shook her head no. I asked if he was a good guy. She didn’t answer then kind of said no. Then I asked if he is a good guy sometimes. She said, “as veces”. I knew she was interested but my driver was waiting and she had customers waiting in line to check out.

I figured I’d call her later. Then I thought to myself there is no way she was hooked up with some drug dealer type. She’s been working here for 2 years and making peanuts probably. She wouldn’t be here if she had that kind of boyfriend.

I went to a country club that Rigo was at. We played racquetball and I sweated my ass off. I really liked Rigo. He’s a smart guy that is what you see what you get. Then the other guy that joined us at Flores Frescas (FF) joined us. Let’s call him Jay. Jay was a great racquetball player. He was also a really good guy. He was originally from Cuba and he found my observations about Cuba to be spot on.

We all went to the sauna and it was great. It had eucalyptus in the steam so it was really soothing. We all had a drink that was full of fruit. I forget the name but it translates into “splash”. I ate because I’m always hungry. I think both these guys were a little amazed by my journeys. I told them I couldn’t get hottie off my mind. Rigo suggested to call her and I thought the same thing. I was gonna do it later.

Rigo had to go home but I wanted to hit a casa. I asked Jay to go with me. He seemed up for it. This guy was funny. He is here with his house for vacation! He had to be really careful. We tried going to La Mansion and there were only 3 girls there so we didn’t even go in. Always ask how many girls are before you pay a cover. Don’t confuse Mansion with Mansion Rosa which is Flores Frescas.

Then I wanted to go to Kaliente as there were plenty of hot girls yesterday. We get there and it’s funny. Half the girls were sleeping and they woke them up for the lineup. These girls sleep till like 5 PM and it was only like 4 PM I think. Jay said he didn’t see anything he likes. He prefers fuller women and many of the girls here are petite. I saw a girl that I wanted to pick the other day. She was hot. I picked my girl and he said he’d wait. I told Jay to at least see a girl for an hour. He told me he was just going to booze which was cool with me.

My girl came out then Jay picked a girl to come out and talk to. We drank with our girls and joked around. Mine was hilarious. 21 years old from the same city as the other girl. I think it’s pronounced Armenia (?). Hot girls from this city.

I decide to session for one hour. It’s 100,000 pesos. There are 4 bedrooms upstairs. I could take my pick and the rooms are very clean and big. I let her pick one. Wrong move as it turns out. We start to session and there is no air conditioning in this room. We are going at it hard and heavy and I’m sweating my ass off. She is great but not GFE at first. Tells me that she doesn’t kiss clients. Call me cynical but I kind of like when they do this. I kind of make it a mission to get GFE and watch them evolve into getting into the session and then getting all GFE. She was no different. We had a monster session but after 40 minutes I was done. I took a cold shower and kind of hurried as I thought Jay was waiting for me downstairs.

Imagine my surprise when Jay hears us talking and knocks on the adjoining door. He is surprised we are leaving. I tell him that I thought he was waiting downstairs. He laughs. I guess he decided to session after all. He is in his underwear and his girl is in a towel naked. I’m clothed and so is my girl. Jay suggests that we shed some clothes so they don’t feel so out of place. This usually is not my cup of tea but I figured why not? Anything to make the girls feel more comfortable right??

I suggest that we take some pictures. Jay’s girl is totally against this. Mine is indifferent since she already let me take pictures. Then we gave them 40,000 pesos for some pictures. They didn’t want to take any naked pics only wanting to be in their towels at first. But then I gave my classic lines of, “que cuerpos mas bonitas!” “dios mio…dos modelos!” Sh*t like that. They were loving the pictures and then we took more and more and more. I think they turned out great. Jay thinks I should quit my job and travel the world photographing beautiful women. Oops. Aren’t I already doing that? I guess I’m not being paid though. Oh well. I can’t complain.

I liked Jay. We had a lot in common as he also has a big heart. He also isn’t cheap. He doesn’t like to waste money either but he doesn’t mind spending it. We all were having a lot of laughs and a good time. The phone rang and we went downstairs.

I thought we were going to leave but we end up ordering some drinks and hanging out with our girls downstairs for at least maybe 1.5 hours. We were having a great time. We were both playing kissy face with our girls. I invited mine to go in the mountains with me then out to dinner. I guess I forgot I already had 2 dates already with other girls. My girl made me promise to call her.

Then we all talked about the business. All of you guys that think these girls are making a fortune can forget it. It’s quite sad. Some of these girls don’t work for 3 or 4 days in a row. This place is like a prison almost. Don’t get me wrong. The management treats them good they all said. But they can’t leave. The only day they get off is Sunday. Most aren’t making that much. On the best of months they make $500. They can go up to 4 or 5 days with not one customer since there are so many girls. You should have seen Jay’s girl. At one point she was almost in tears saying, “thank you God”. When I asked him later why she was like that. He told me she is going to a baby shower tomorrow and they didn’t have enough to buy drinks and stuff. Her mom was expecting in a month. Jay gave her some money and before we left I slipped her 20,000 pesos and told her I hope it helps. I think these girls were amazed by their expressions.

I tipped my girl well and I think Jay did too. We both were surprised that his girl didn’t session in the past 3 days. You could tell she wasn’t BS’ing either. Cali just isn’t a high volume place like other cities.

At this point it’s already like 8 PM. We kept saying we were going to leave and kept making out with our girls and hugging and talking. I suggested we go to Chipe Chope to grab a coffee and I needed to get some more money from an ATM as I ran out already. We arrived there at 9 PM or so and there were TONS of hot girls. Oh my God! I’ve never seen so many hot girls in one place. This is the place to be seen. These girls walk around like they are on a runway. It’s amazing. They know they are hot and they like being watched. We had strong espressos that were great.

Jay was a good guy. He was amazed that I had such a strong interest in the Latin culture and commented my Spanish was quite good. Honestly, it’s not that good but conversational. I really believe you need to learn at least 15,000 – 20,000 words at a minimum to be conversational. I’m taking a Spanish class at night but it’s worthless as it’s too slow and I’m way ahead of the class so I stopped going before the trip. Plus, I was always out of the country so I was missing classes anyway. Every week I’d make the excuse, “sorry but I was in Paris or Germany or Costa Rica”. One lady asked me if I work for the CIA. Ha,ha.

We people watched for a while. We decided to talk only in Spanish so I could improve. We talked business and about life. We thought a lot alike. Their was an age difference but most of the guys I meet are significantly older than I am. It doesn’t matter to me. I don’t have too much in common with most guys my age anyway.

I told him that his wife must be worried. At this point it’s 10:30 PM. We were going to eat there but we decided to go back and eat near our hotel. We get there and his wife is waiting at the gate. Oops. I ate with him and his wife and we talked about Cuba. I was drained of energy and didn’t know if I would go out. I’ve only been sleeping 3 or 4 hours a night. Plus, we played racquetball all day.

I went back and we sat out and talked with Rigo. I decided to take a shower and see how I feel. Of course I was horny so I decided to go to Flores Frescas. Those guys couldn’t go so I went alone. It didn’t bother me though. I like being independent. I got there around 12:30 AM. It closes at 3 AM on the weekends. There were a bunch of dudes and about 12 girls. Most weren’t my type but there were maybe 3 hotties. This girl latched on to me and although her body appeared to be good I couldn’t really tell about her face since it’s so damn dark in there. I bought her and her friend a Red Bull which was 10,000 pesos each.

I was surprised that there was still a show at 1 AM. The parade of girls and a lesbian show too. I noticed a lot of locals come here for the show. There was some younger Columbianos there and I couldn’t believe it during the lesbo show when I saw them jerking off with their jeans on. They kind of just reached below their jeans and were jerking off. I found this hilarious and was laughing. I motioned for my girl to look and she said those guys could barely afford the 15,000 pesos entrance fee so that was the closest they’d get. Oh well. Poor bastards.

At this point I’m dying. I’m super tired and the Red Bulls aren’t helping. I figured I could probably negotiate as it was 2 AM but I just told her, “vamos” (let’s go). She looked a little stunned. She said 150,000? I said sure. I paid the 70,000 exit fee and off we went. This girl didn’t have the prettiest face but she had a great body and she was great in bed. She was so energetic. I have a lot of energy in bed and she kept up and wanted more and more and more. Finally she left at 3:30 AM. I feel bad every night having to wake Rigo up but he insists on unlocking the front gate so I have to wake him up constantly. Oh well. If it doesn’t bother me it’s fine.

I emailed Starfe last night asking if he’d change my ticket for me. He called early this morning. I’m not even sure what time but I couldn’t go back to sleep and here I am typing this latest update. He did manage to change it according to an email he sent me. I’m staying another week so I guess I have to deal with work later.

I’m not sure who I’m going to call today. I told 3 girls I’d do something with them. Hmm. More later.

The taxi meters do work very strangely. The meter displays a number, maybe the drop starts at 24, and it clicks by 1's as you go, so maybe a trip from that hotel to Chipe Choppe will read say 120 which might be say 7,000 pesos... the driver has an index card that for every number 24 - 250 has a price next to it. The taxis all will rip you off - not by driving the wrong way or with a bad meter - but they'll just tell you a price that is higher the the cooresponding index number the meter is reading.

The head bellman at the IC hotel has a card, and he made a photo copy for me. I've made copies for some others, but I don't have a scanner... Hey GF, if you have access to a scanner maybe we could get .jpg posted here?

It's no surprise that you're favorite (nonpro) is so interested. All caleñas seem to have a boyfriend, and all are looking for the BBD (bigger better deal). They seem transition from one boyfriend to the next - never do they leave one before finding the next. Just be certain (even ask) that he's not a nacro dude (so many are - it's just a HUGE part of the economy there) if you're going to go out in public with her.

Nice work Godfather, excellent report. I take it from your experience, (and comments) that the guys in their 40's would have a difficult time with the woman in Cali. Hopefully I didn’t get the wrong point across. Guys older than 40 will do ok. It’s just that that for the non-pro scene of the hottest girls I don’t see any out in public with guys that appear to be too old. Keep in mind I’m still a Cali rookie and just posting my honest observations as always.

I just got back from exploring the Andes Mountains. Definitely take a trip up there during the day. There are some really nice views up there. You can take a taxi up there. I heard some have to have a special permit to go up there but I’m not entirely sure I believe it. Just hire a taxi by the hour instead of running the meter. It will be cheaper. Ask to go to Kilometer 18. It’s about 35-45 minutes up the mountains from the city depending on traffic.

It’s interesting as you first approach slums then it slowly turns into mansions and big estates of what must be drug dealers.
Some might try to tell you that it’s dangerous but I doubt there is any real danger during the day. There are two main restaurants up there. Bring a light jacket or sweater because there is a vast temperature difference up there. Also, it’s high so when the clouds roll in you are in the fog of the clouds. It’s kind of cool.

I read the last kidnappings up here were about 3 years ago. The FARC just rounded up about 40 people (most were locals). They were all released after their families paid for their release. Don’t let that scare you. I heard there is a new police chief in the area and security is much better.

I’m so dead tired. I’m going to rest then I have a date with the first girl I saw from Flores Frescas.

P.S. Hemp - No way I'd post pictures of a non-pro or a girl that I wanted to get involved in a relationship. That wouldn't be cool. I'm not sure what it is about her. I've dated tons of hot girls. There is something about her. We'll find out more on Tuesday night when I talk to her. I'm sending roses to her at work so I'll see how that goes.

Glad to hear you're having a good time. Now you know why all these times that I have made my three day weekend trip to CR just for the Colombianas. I've had no interest in the TICAS, only Colombianas. It's a short trip to CR and less expensive and I can get back to work right a way. I've made it to Cartagena but not to Cali yet. I just got back from an interesting evening. The girl I met for dinner brought her kid with her! Anyway, I’m not exactly the father figure for kids that aren’t mine. I think I’ll be an excellent dad someday but I wasn’t expecting to have dinner with her 3 year old too. After dinner I made an excuse that I had to go meet Jay. I tried not to be obvious about it but she probably knew.

I honestly think some of these girls just want some relief from a difficult life. Sometimes I wish I won a mega lottery so I could help more people. Oh and travel more too. Hee, hee.

After I left Chipe Chopi mall I went to Kaliente because I thought the guy told me they are open on Sundays. The doorman knows me by now. I asked him how many girls were working. He told me only 2 and he said they were new. He said all the regular girls had the night off. I figured these were probably two bad girls that didn’t even want to go out on their only night off. I told him he knows my taste in girls and would I like these two girls. He shook his head no and told me he didn’t want to lie.

The funny thing is that my taxi driver was new and he couldn’t find this place. He asked some guy that was several blocks away and the kid gets on his bicycle and takes us to Kaliente. I usually don’t get nervous in foreign countries. I know I’m long overdue to get mugged or something.

After talking to the doorman at Kaliente this kid was still waiting as well as my taxi. I ask the kid if he knows anywhere else close. He said there were lots of casas but usually Americans don’t go to them. I could care less if Americans went or not. It was only a block over from Kaliente. I don’t even know the name of the place or even know if there is a name. I thought it couldn’t hurt to check it out.

I thought about hitting some normal clubs but I’m not in the mood to start some other deal till after I meet my hottie girl that I’ve been talking to. She comes back on Tuesday night.

I told the taxi driver to wait while I checked the line up. There were 8 girls. 7 of them were nasty and 1 was cute. I asked the cost of incall and outcall. Incall was 50,000 pesos an hour and outcall was 70,000 pesos an hour so needless to say cheap.

I went and paid the taxi driver and gave the kid on the bike 10,000 pesos. (5,000 pesos at Kaliente and 5,000 pesos at this other place). He was really happy. Anyway, I start sessioning with this girl and I noticed she had a tattoo which is a big turn off for me. She had a really pretty face though and was affectionate so that was cool. It was a good session. There was no hot water there just like none at Kaliente so I decided to take a shower when I came home. It’s semi-early at 11:30 PM but it’s Sunday so I think I’ll rest up. I’m not sure what I’ll do tomorrow. I’ve had very little downtime since arriving.

There isn’t too much to do in Cali during the day. I’ve been taking the time to sightsee. I really enjoyed driving in the mountains today to Kilometer 18 area. Some of the views were really striking with the Andes Mountains and the mist of fog with all the houses and the city below. I’ve been fortunate this year to see so many wonderful sights the past two years.

Sorry to all those emailing me in my inbox asking questions. I don’t have time to answer them now but I’ll try once I get next week. One dude asked me if Cali was worth hitting besides the girls. That is a difficult question to answer. It depends on what kind of person you are. Personally I hear that Medellin and Bogota and Cartegena are more beautiful cities but I doubt the people can be as friendly as these Calenos.

The city as I mentioned several times isn’t beautiful. The people are the biggest asset here. I had a taxi driver from Bogota today. He told me that he adores Cali. He prefers it over Bogota because the people are very nice here. He said that in Bogota it’s such a bigger city so people are distrustful of one another. Here everyone pretty much gets along.

I’m thinking about getting on a plane tomorrow and hitting Medellin but I’m afraid I’ll like it so much that I don’t come back to Cali in time to hook up with my girl. A big part of the reason I extended was to spend some time with her. We’ll see what happens.

P.S Dino, I didn't see any girls in Costa Rica near as hot as these girls walking around in Chipe Chopi mall. I doubt I'll ever go back to Costa Rica to hobby. I will say that it's an easy flight there especially in First/Business with upgrades so that is nice.

P.S.S. Otro Hombre, I haven't hit BA or Rio since September. Many of the girls that I used to IM and email with have given up on me I think. A few still email with me but it probably will be this summer before I go back. Too many new places to hit. Like I mentioned before. The world is too big of a place to keep going back to one city. The Non-hobby scene is not for everyone, as documented.

In the day, the heat and humidity are high. I live in S. Florida so I'm a little more used to it than some, still I have to wear shorts, never pants in the days.

The city is very ugly and dirty (the people are the opposite), and there isn't a lot to do there. Very different from Rio and Brasil, BA, CR, etc.

Safety is an issue. Of course it's nothing as bad as the government or others make it, but still there are risks.

I agree not to rush down here. Just because the majority of the girls are better looking than Argentina or Brazil doesn't mean you'll be sleeping with them. My comment about the good looking girls is true but there are good looking girls in other cities around the world to hobby.

As mentioned by me and others. The non-pro scene isn't going to be for everyone. Again, I walked around the mall yesterday and last night. I still don't see any of the super hotties with older dudes. They might have them on the side but I sure don't see them around. Also, there aren't too many Americans here.

The heat hasn't been too bad. I only wore shorts one day because NO locals wear shorts at all. Jay from Cuba has been wearing shorts everyday though. It was refreshing going into the cold mountain air yesterday.

Cali like many other cities in South and Central America has danger but it is nothing like the State Department portrays it. There are still lots of drug lords. The only difference is now they are quiet and not splashy. Before they liked attention. (kind of like John Gotti). Now they are quiet and just want to make their money undisturbed.

I woke up early today again. I'm going to go get a massage and maybe a steam then go to a casa or the mall. I'm tempted to go to Medellin. We'll see.

Ok. I've had a pretty busy day so far. I just stopped home to shower. I woke up then walked around Avenida Sexta where there are lots of restaurants, shops and cafes. It's not particularly a beautiful street like most of the city but it's interesting.

Then went to Chipi Chope to hit an internet cafe. I have internet access all the time. That's how I can post so frequently. I think Rigo was smart because he put a laptop in my room that is always on. It's dial up so not too fast but easy to log on and give updates.

Here are some hints before I forget. GSM service is new and just started last year. You can't buy a SIM card at the stores but it's probably possible from someone. I'm not here long enough to need to buy one. Rigo has old bigger style cellphones you can use for free. You just have to buy refillable credits (like Brazil) at the store. FYI. The company is BellSouth. My AT&T GSM phone does work here and I used it a few times to call my office. I'm not sure the rates but I bet expensive. You can buy relatively inexpensive calling cards at the store to use in the payphones or use an internet cafe cabina.

The internet cafe at Chipe Chopi is called Matrix. It is all the way in the back then go left. You can't miss it. Just ask if you can't find it.

The taxis are all friendly. Try to at least round up or tip them like a 1,000 peso note. I'm always generous and I think it bodes well for future Americans that visit. Don't be an ugly American and treat these girls as well as the people in general with respect and dignity. Not many Americans are here so if you're a loud, obnoxious, drunk ass then they will remember it and maybe not be so kind to the next American that visits. You want to leave them with the impression. "How thoughtful and polite American tourists are".

Food is cheap. I find the restaurants aren't as nice or plentiful as in places like Buenos Aires but the quality of food is quite good. You won't have a problem finding what you want.

After Chipe Chopi I had my daily massage appointment. First I decided to get a facial. It was nice. Not cheap for Cali standards at 60,000 pesos but in the USA it is quite pricey for a good one. There are tons of esteticas or salons so you won't have a problem finding one. I'm sure they are all pretty decent. Again, I spotted several guys getting manicures/pedicures. They also have several stylists to cut your hair if you need it. I'm sure you can get an old-fashioned style shave in most too.

It was nice that my masseuse told me that my hottie was talking about me. I hope extending will be worth it.

Also, remember not to slam taxi doors. Keep in mind them paying off their taxis is equivalent to us paying off our mortgages on our homes. The taxis aren't cheap here and most are paying them off on loan installments. The interest rates can be as high as 30% so remember to treat their cars with respect. You wouldn't want someone shitting on the side of your house would you?

I just showered and I'm going to hit a casa for some afternoon action. Later fellas.

Another good afternoon under my belt. In the name of research for you deviants I decided to check out some casas while I’m here this week. First I went to Uni-centro Mall to possibly do some shopping. I just don’t find the clothes to be that good here for men. Shoes appear to be a good buy though. I might buy some this week.

FLHobbyer gave me the name of his amiga that works at one of the ice cream stores. I went and had an ice cream and said hi to her. She is a totally cute and sweet girl. It was cute how she had this paper of English phrases. I guess she is studying English which I really admire. After I finished my ice cream I was going to leave but she wanted to talk some more. I ordered a Lemonade then we talked for about an hour. I asked her if she had any pretty friends for me. She said yes but that they weren’t available now?? Oh well. She ended up giving me her phone number so I’ll try to hook up with her friends. Hey Leo, I asked her what your status is with her. Amigo, novio, etc. She told me to ask you. Ha, ha.

I walked around some and I got 2 phone numbers of these cute girls. It’s relatively easy to get phone numbers here if you can communicate with them. Usually I start out pretending like I’m looking for a store or something. Then I ask them if they are a Calena. Then some other stuff. I tell them how beautiful they are (which they love hearing). Then just ask them for a phone number. So far, I haven’t been turned down yet.

Then I decided to hit some casas. First I went to Faraon but it was closed. The guy told me they don’t open till 7 PM. A few casas down on the same block is Doctor of Love (Doctor de Amor). Some dude on WSG posted it was called La Clinica but he was wrong. The address is Calle 2 Norte #23 N37. It is right down from Faraon. You can’t miss Faraon because there is a big sign. Also, my taxi driver that was young told me that Faraon had hot girls so I’ll try to check it out for you horndogs this week.

Anyway, I get to Doctor de Amor. I have my backpack of course with my camera and stuff. The guy says I can’t take it in. I had my Ipod and my camera and a bunch of other expensive stuff. I was nervous but I kept it with him. Then I get in this room. When you walk in there is a huge room with couches and chairs. There were tons of dudes sitting around. Of course I was the only tourist. No matter, as I mentioned people here don’t treat tourists any differently. I was surprised how many dudes there were waiting. Maybe 12 of them. Anyway, they do the line up and the girls aren’t so good. The guy told me there was 25 girls but only about 10 came through the line up. All the other girls were busy in rooms.

That’s the reason why so many guys were waiting. I guess mostly locals come here and some guys have their favorite girls. So what do they do? They wait for them! 9 out of the 10 girls were horrible. If you like “thick”girls then you might like this place. I did see one cute girl. I inquired about prices with the manager and he said it’s 25,000 pesos (that is less than $10) or one hour on-site for 34,000 pesos ($13) Yes, you read that right.

It’s not private. It’s kind of weird making your selection and talking with your girl in front of like 15 guys. Oh well. I wanted to see how the quality of session was so I picked this girl. However, I told the manager I would leave if I couldn’t have my backpack with me. They immediately gave it back to me.  I talked to her and she seemed sweet. She wasn’t gorgeous but not ugly either. You go to a cashier at a window labeled “Caja” (cashier). You pay her then she gives you a towel.

To tell you how busy it was almost every room that she knocked on was already busy. There are 15 bedrooms in this place. She told me they are pretty big. There is also another house 2 doors down that they only utilize for the bedrooms. All of them were busy too! She gave me the option of waiting or sessioning in a small room equivalent to a Luomo cabina in Rio. I asked to see it and it was fine. There was a mirror on the wall which I like to view during session.

This girl was very sweet and funny. When she went for the BJ she was going to do it with a condom. Here is some advice for those of you that don’t travel to Latin America that much. You can ask the girl, “Mi amor, por favor... puede chupar sin condom?”( Mi love, please.. can you suck without a condom”. My average is like 90% for getting BBBJ when asking. This girl asked if I could give her a tip. I asked her how much and she just said whatever I could afford. Ok, be careful here. You know how it all is. It’s easy to get carried away. A few times here I’ll be on top in the groove grinding on them without a condom. Sometimes it might slip in. You have to understand if they let you go bare back that means they’ve let others so be careful. This girl and I were grinding and she asked if I wanted to use a condom. Of course I said yes. The sex was awesome. Again, she isn’t my dream type girl. I like a girl with a model quality face but she was cute and her body was decent. She was getting so wet! He looked reluctant until I gave him a $1 US. He looked at it like it was a gold brick. I don’t think these guys make jack. I also gave my girl a 20,000 peso tip and she was very appreciative. I doubt these locals tip much. My girl told me it was so crowded because it is payday for the majority here.

I’m going to go eat at this neighborhood restaurant a few doors down. I went there the other night. A steak, salad, french fries was 11,000 pesos ($4). I’m gonna shower again after that then probably head to Flores Fresca or another new spot in the name of research. Later.

Guys. Get the dangerous Columbia notion out of your head. I'm serious. I totally stick out like a sore thumb and you know what? I like it. The Columbianas give me extra attention. Almost all of them have told me that I'm so handsome. Do you think I'd get this kind of treatment if I was a Latino? Hell no.

Get the drug lord notion out of your head. Repeat after me.... Cali is safe if you're not stupid and use common sense. I've been walking around at night alone. People have been nothing but friendly always offering help or directions. I've never met a group of friendlier people.

I refuse to use a paid guide. Hell, I still can't believe guys pay someone to hold their hand to take them around to the termas in Rio. Guys expect Rio to be some scene out of City of God. That just isn't the case. Sure there are dangerous areas but there are in my city back home too. However, if you speak little to no Spanish it would be a good investment to have a bilingual guide. Safety in numbers principle might be good here. I don't know. I've had no problems.

Call me the adventurous type but I'm just not scared if there is no reason to be.

I posted about Faron and Dr. Amor places. Regarding Faron, and the place adjacent (different owner, different girls) - they have some hotties (see photos of Caroline, she wasn't even my first choice... first choice wouldn't do BBBJ nor allow photos). I just spent the last few hours with the hottie from Flores Fresca. I hate to do this but I’m going to ask Hombre to pull the ones with her face. Hey guys. I posted this in response to a guy that has lived in Columbia for years. He told me part of the reason I'm having so much fun is because of the language skills. I'm cutting and pasting below.

NO doubt you are 100% correct. I thought I emphasized it enough in my report that speaking conversational Spanish is very key here to enjoy the extra benefits. I CAN'T imagine the gringo gulch type here. I hated CR for the fact that many of the guys looked like degenerates. Many were loud, drunk and obnoxious. Many had bragged that they have been going down to CR for years yet couldn't even learn some basic Spanish.

Cali isn't going to be for everyone. For me it's been a dream vacation. I don't have enough hours in the day to get all I want done. My experience last night was unreal with that hottie. I'm meeting her today for dinner.

The thing that sucks with the pros is most of them have to work everyday except Sundays. On Sundays since they are gone all week they have to spend it with their families. Many of these girls have kids and it's the only day to spend with their families.

Ricker is 100% correct that your experiences probably won't mirror mine. I've been having just as much fun with the non-pro stuff then the pro stuff. Please have realistic expectations when arriving here.

It can be found in any type of nicer store like Foley's, Macy's, etc. I probably spend about $120 a month on all their stuff and it works great.

But with the pros, and showing their faces, I think that an equal amount would view it as good publicity, a form of advertising, as those who might view it as a bad thing. Especially if they aren't hiding it from their families, or live where the internet is not used by all people (e.g. moms and dads, friends).

GF, ask Rigo about "Evelyn". Rigo and my friend (G) from Florida (you know him, from the party we did) did FF one night, and G was told by Rigo that she was at FF many months prior to when we were there in July - some story about Rigo's son or such (I don't remember all). And my friend from Houston brought her back one night, and while he said it wasn't totally GFE, he told me she kissed all he wanted (did all but complete - which he didn't ask for).

Not that she's not a great girl, I just think with all of them you have to expect some exagerations, some stretching of truths, some story making up.

First of all thanks for the great report, keep it coming.

Here are some comments for you and the other members on your observations.

Colombians are very sweet, but don't believe everything they say, that goes for pros or non-pros. As Flhobbyer pointed out about the girl who said she has only worked there 6 months. I doubt that many familes of the girls working in the casas know what they are doing, normally they tell them they are working in a shop or a casino etc.

There is no problem if you 40 plus getting a hot chick, my friend a Colombian is 67 years old and is always out in public with differant girls aged about 18 or so. It is just easier the younger you are, the better dressed and the more Spanish you speak etc. Obviously he realises the girls are not there for his youth, but the presents that he buys them.

Girls always call me very handsome as well, I just laugh at this, I am just an ordinary joe. My female Colombian friends say it is because I look exotic, compared with the locals, I have fair hair and Germanic looks. If you don't look Latin and are of average or better looks, you will get called handsome all the time (muy guapo).

Have you tried Imodium for the stomache problem, it has never failed me, from Africa to Asia and the jungles of Central America.

The stomache parasites are not very strong here in Colombia (for me at least), so taking a couple and eating again a short while later is no problem.

In other Countries that I have visited, you will need to take 2 straight away, then if you have another loose stool, 1 more (up to a max of 6, but I have never taken more than 3) and not eat for 24 hours after the last lose stool, just drink liquids (non-sugary, no milk, no juices), or it returns a short while later.

Thanks Hunter. I'll try it. These Pepto Bismul tablets aren't helping too much but I think I'll be ok. I agree with what you said. I take a grain of salt with everything I hear. I'm not guillable and generally not too trusting of these girls. I do feel that I'm a good judge of character though.

I just met AntiFreeze from the WSG board and his wife. He moved here about 6 years ago. He read all my posts and he PMéd me. He was astonished that he agreed with just about everything I wrote about Cali. He's a good guy that is really funny. I might hook up with him again while I'm here.

I read on the general discussion section how guys are talking about the dangers. Maybe I mis-spoke when I said it's "perfectly safe". Columbia can't be categorized that way I guess but I will say that in all my journeys I find Cali no more dangerous than Rio or a handful of other cities.

I'd actually like to hear from guys that have actually been to or lived in Cali or Columbia instead of all the guys that only read State Department warnings. It's funny. I met an American last night and he has been coming here for years. We were in agreement about how people perceive Cali that have never set foot here.

Ok. It was bound to happen. I officially hit the wall tonight. I feel terrible. I was on a another date with the total hottie from FF. She is so sweet. We had some beers, walked around and I did the "shopping mall" test with girls I normally do. I see if they ask to buy them anything. Get this. I noticed her birthday was coming up in a few weeks on her ID so I told her I wanted to buy her a pair of jeans. We went into 3 stores and she told me to save my money. She didn't buy anything! We went to eat at a Parillia but I was feeling so aweful. Not only did my stomache hurt but I started getting a migraine. At dinner she was showing me pictures of all her family (sisters, brother, son, mom,dad). I think they do this once you build a rapport and some trust with them.

I can't emphasize enough how good of a guy Rigo is at the Hostel I'm staying. There are nicer accomodations in Cali. In fact, I usually try to stay at the nicest places in town when I travel since I have a difficult time sleeping. There are many untold benefits of using Rigo. Damn. I just had the best date of my life. I met with my non-pro girl for our date. We spent two hours together laughing, talking, eating and getting to know one another. She is the type of girl that I could retire from hobbying from. Understand that I´m the type of guy that really has a lot of confidence. There isn´t a girl in the USA that I don´t feel I couldn´t get if I wanted. Many guys tell me that if I keep this hobbying up I won´t be able to be happy with an American girl. What they don´t realize is that I don´t want an American girl!

I´m meeting her again tonight and going to her house to pick her up. I´m meeting her parents. She is just a simple girl. She doesn´t like going to the clubs/bars, prefers to stay at home, has a big heart and is as beautiful as they come on the inside and outside. I´ve met a lot of beautiful girls in my life but she might be the most beautiful one. I do prefer them a little older (she is only 19) but looks like 23 or so.

I think I was totally wrong about the girls here dating older guys. They must date guys much older than me because everyone keeps telling me how young I am. The club girls must have older novios.

Everyday I´m here I have a deeper respect for their way of life here. There is a simplistic way of life here that I really admire. They treat people like a member of their family. I can´t tell you how nice the people are are with the few tourists that are here. Every single taxi driver has been so nice to me. Most give me their phone numbers inviting me to use them again anytime I need to. I do tip them and they really seem to appreciate it as the locals probably can´t afford to tip them. Again, I think the nicer Americans are with them it bodes well for future American visitors. Treat these people right and they will treat you right.

Americans often travel around with the attitude that we are the best in the world. That isn´t right. Not everyone envies us. In fact, I envy the way of life here and the respect that these people seem to have for one another.

I am sure he won't mind me posting it here for him. We both live in Colombia, but I have only been here for 2.5 years, no where near as long as Gator. I agree with what he says in his post 100%.

While I do NOT mean to correct my good friend, Godfather, Colombia is not totally safe. I* do NOT believe this is want GF means. In as much as ninty percent of you who visit will go to a major city, i.e, Bogotá, Medellin, Cali, or Cartagena and never leave the tourist areas there is nothing to worry about. Try certain areas of Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, New York or LA if you want to experience real danger. People often ask me, "Colombia! Aren't you scared?" I usually answer, "Hell no! I use and ATM machine in downtown Miami."
Kidnapping? Get real! Who among us has sufficient funds to make kidnapping worth while. Kinda like O'Henry's short story, "The Ramson of Red Chief."

Certain areas not to visit, especially if you are a visitor and do not know the language or customs are: Any of the Departments east of Cali (Putumayo, Caqueta, Meta) the area of Pasto or Popayan. Not so much the cities but the roads to get there. The northeast area of the Departmento de Cesar, All of the Departmento de Guajira and the area east to Santa Marta. Parts of the Departmento de Antioquia (Medellin). Always seek local advice when going outside of the cities.

I will tell you this, and I live here, Colombians have really started to travel to outlying areas much more. I would not hesitate to take a bus between many cities (being cognizant of the travel time). Colombia is one hell of a lot better NOW than two years ago.

My best advice-if you are afraid-don't go. Can't have a good vacation if you look over your shoulder all the time and the pucker factor is such you can't pull a needle out of you ass with a John Deere tractor.

If this ain't the best damn'ed report ever written I don't know what is. Thank you for letting us read it. So, when's the best time of year to visit Cali?

Damn. Today could very well have been the busiest day I’ve ever had in my life. I had a lunch date then another lunch date with my non-pro girl then I just spent the past 3 hours with the amiga of this dude from WSG. One thing is becoming very evident to me. Don’t come here for the pro girls or to hobby. Come here for the normal girls. This is THE place to come if you want to fall in love with a normal, beautiful girl. The hobby girls aren’t the ideal ones to fall in love with. It’s too difficult dealing with their past.

Dude from WSG, your girl is amazing. I talked you up a lot! You can’t meet that kind of girl in America. Hell, you can’t meet that kind of girl anywhere in the world. She is so beautiful on the outside but more so in the inside. I’m so proud of her for learning English. NO ONE here speaks English. There are not many tourists here so people in restaurants, taxi drivers, stores don’t have a need to learn like the other countries I’ve been to. The only one that speaks English that I came across is Rigo. I really think you’re foolish if you don’t try for something with this girl.

I would have talked to her longer but I looked at the time and I noticed I have a date with my non-pro girl. I just got out of the shower and I’m waiting on my taxi. I’m meeting her family tonight. The amiga of the WSGér is learning English. It was so cute how we were doing English lessons. I was so impressed by her wanting to learn that I gave her my $100 English/Spanish electronic dictionary that conjugates words too. She loved it! She couldn’t believe that I gave it to her as a gift. Then she asked me about music so I whipped out my Ipod and we listened to songs in English while I translated. We were sitting at Reggae Pop (a little bar stand that usually a younger hip crowd goes to). One earphone was in my ear and the other in hers and she wanted me to translate songs so I was translating Dido and Sade songs to her.

I really have no desire to hobby. The normal girl scene is what’s great about Cali. I think I could fall in love every day here. The normal girls are so nice. Hell, I don’t even have a desire to hang out with the hot Flores Fresca girl. Why hang out with a pro girl when you can hang out with a sweet flower. The girls here are amazing. I can’t say enough great things about the people here.

Guys, if you can speak Spanish and you want to meet a nice, untarnished flower then I highly recommend you visit Cali. After experiencing it I just think there is no better place in the world to fall in love, meet beautiful and genuine girls. Now I know why Antifreeze moved here.

Anyway, I gotta run. The only dangerous thing about Cali is it WILL make you settle down. If it makes me have the desire never to hobby again. Imagine what it will do for you?????

Ok guys. I'm just home to grab more money then I'm out the door. I just went to dinner with my new novia and her family. I was a big hit at dinner. Damn it helps that I could talk to them. I was cracking jokes and I have another date tomorrow and I invited her younger brother to come with us with his girlfriend. Her family was so blown away by this gesture. Her brother loves me. She loved the flowers I sent her today. Her mom commented to me that she thought I was perfect for her daughter.

I'm going to try to hit some other clubs in the name of research. Damn I wish my girl was here with me now but I guess it was tough leaving with her with her family there. I didn't dare ask her. A meal with tip for me, her and 4 of her family members was 200,000 pesos with a generous tip. I had the restaurant call 2 taxis. One for me and one for her family. I paid the taxi driver and told him to take out a 3,000 tip and give the change to her family. They were also blown away by this gesture.

Anyway, I'll try to hit Tangas and some other places. If they suck I'll go back to Flores Fresca.

P.S. FLHobbyer. Actually I didn't show you up at all. That is the type of girl that doesn't care about money or material things. The thing most guys don't realize is most of these girls here (normal non-pros anyway) just want someone to love them, treat them with respect and be nice to them. I really do think your amiga is beautiful. I hope she gets good use out of that translator. It really is the best one on the market. I told her that the condition of giving it to her was that she had to practice English with you so that when she goes to Aruba with you her English will be good. She is doing well. She knows all the numbers, colors, food, etc. We went through a bunch of stuff.

She really has a big heart. The non-pro girls here as mentioned is what it's about here. Sure the club girls are fun though. You know what they say. "amor es amor y sexo es sexo". (love is love and sex is sex).

Definitely practice your Spanish before coming here. If you can speak spanish and are respectful with these girls I can't imagine not getting a girlfriend. Oh well.. I went to try Tangas Club and it sucked!!! That Ramone guy told me that it was good. You can scratch it off your list. It's in South Cali about a 15 minute taxi ride. The area looks kind of rough so I wouldn't walk around at night in this area. I'm a pretty brave guy but didn't do any walking around in this area. Most of these types of clubs have 1-3 guys sitting downstairs shooting the shit. They will all frisk you to see if you have a gun (I guess in itself tells you something about Columbia??). I'm not sure. Also, I will mention one of my girls I met her boyfriend was murdered so that was a first for me too.

Anyway, Tangas has all fat girls. There is no cover fee and there shouldn't be. You walk up 2 flights of stairs and you see a bunch of locals. The girls are sitting around and the manager yelled for them to introduce themselves to me. I told him he didn't have to as all the girls were slobs anyway. I ordered a coke just to see how much it was. It was 2,000 pesos. I took one sip of it then left.

This is an area I didn't see a lot of taxis in. Always ask them to call you a taxi. I forgot upstairs but I paid the guys downstairs to flag me one down.

I was going to stay home. I can't really get my mind off my non-pro girl. Anyway, I went to Flores Fresca. There were a few cuties there. I ordered a Red Bull but was still thinking about my girl so I left. Then I was going to come back home when I asked myself, "what the hell are you doing??". I decided to go to Kaliente to see if that would change my mood.

I went to Kaliente and there must be a HUGE pool of girls because they had 12 girls working and every single one of them was different than all the girls I've seen the previous days. There was a cute girl in the line up. Not gorgeous but she had a cute face. I paid the 180,000 pesos to pull her out for 3 hours. After two hours I told her she could go because I was tired. She didn't appear to want to leave. You have to understand all they do at Kaliente is all share a room with other girls. It's not the best of circumstances.

Also, remember this ain't some places like Brazil and Argentina where these girls are making a fortune. Even the hottest Flores Fresca girl will max out at $1,000 US per month on her very best month working 6 days a week. Some of the girls in Buenos Aires or Rio can make that in a few nights. Cali isn't a high volume place and I doubt if it ever will be.

Anyway, as I mentioned the entire time sessioning I closed my eyes and was thinking about my girl. I didn't even kiss this girl. She tried a few times. What does that say about me?? Sh*t.

Oh well. I have another lunch date with my girl and then a dinner date with her. FLHobbyer's girl asked if I would stop by and say hi to her tomorrow. I'm not sure I'll be in that neck of the woods but I will if I'm there.

It's been an interesting few years and a multitude of countries for me. This is the first time I've felt quite like this. We will see what happens. I did find it interesting that these Columbians need a visa to visit practically everywhere. No countries trust them. They can't even go to Costa Rica without a visa!! One of the countries they can visit without a visa I heard tonight is Peru. But then again...who would want to live in Peru right??

Anyway, I asked my novia in front of her family if she wants to go to Peru with me next month to see Machu Picchu. She said, "Si!" I'm not sure how much a ticket costs from Cali to Lima but I figure it can't be that much. Her family laughed when I joked in Spanish if her parents didn't trust me I would get seperate rooms. Surprisingly her mom said that she trusts me a lot and that she thought I was perfect for her daughter.

I've dated a lot of girls in the hobby. Hell, I dated one last year for almost a year. I flew her in to my house several times...the whole nine yards. I had geniune feelings and all that stuff. The one thing though in the back of any guys mind is having to deal with their past. I guess we can't judge them too much because of the girls we see but honestly I think I may have seen more girls than some of these pros. Ooops!

Stay tuned...I'm seriously thinking of extending again but I think I wouldn't have a job so I won't push it. I'm already leaving for the French Riviera in two weeks for one week but I might fly from there to Cali. Am I nuts?

Before the year 2000 and my first visit to Colombia, I was planning on travelling to many more Countries, up to that point I had worked or taken holidays in 29 Countries.

I visited 4 other Countries after my first visit to Colombia, but they couldn't match up to Colombia and I just wanted to get back there ASAP.

I just love Colombia to much to carry on travelling at the moment, maybe again in the future.

Well. As much as I love any one city I just feel it's important to see the world. I absolutely love Buenos Aires and I hit it over and over and over. Some of you know I even got an apartment there I liked it so much. I broke away and forced myself to visit other cities and countries and I'm glad I did. I feel like a better person for doing it. People need to visit cities for other reason besides girls.

For instance, visiting Germany really touched something inside of me. I had no real knowledge of what the Jewish people went through during the war until I visited Germany and read some articles. Now I'm really fascinated and I'm reading the Diary of Anne Franke now. When I hit Amsterdam in May I'm really interested in visiting the museum there.

Every city has good things and bad things. Cali truly isn't a city I could find myself living in. The people are great but I live a good life. I don't give up living in a great house or driving a luxury car to travel. I have those things. However, if I lived here I'd have to give up so much. As nice and friendly as the people are here there is very little to do during the day. The guy I met from WSG that has been living here for 6 years seems content but a little under pressure to make money since he has a kid and another on the way.

Even Rigo here at the hotel seems happy but money seems like it is a problem. He mentioned since interests are so high here he is forced to get low interest loans on his credit cards.

I doubt Cali will ever be a high end destination. One dude emailed me telling me that I shouldn't post such good things for fear of it turning into a Costa Rica. I don't think that will ever happen. Americans are too scared and lazy. And as I said, most of the guys on these message boards are only looking for sex. If hobbying is all your after, there are lots of better cities around the world.

I probably will come back in a few weeks but I won't give up my other trips around the world. I'll see how this relationship goes but i know that I may be incapable of a committed long term relationship. I have to except certain truths about myself. I always think the grass is greener on the other side. I was married to about the perfect woman (gorgeous, smart, gorgeous, from a wealthy family, etc.) and I didn't want to be in it anymore and was cheating around. I had a lot of guilt from the actions that I did during the marriage and I'll be really careful about getting into something serious again.

Something I love now is being able to go wherever I want to go, sleep in on the weekends without being asked to go run an errand, eating out every night, eating on the couch or the bed in front of the TV. Being single is the ultimate freedom. Still, the institution of marriage is so great. The idea of marriage. About having someone there to take care of you and love you for the rest of your life. I have a soft spot in my heart that will never give up on the idea of getting remarried again.

Sometimes I think to myself do I really want to be hobbying and alone when I'm 35, 40, 45, 50? Guys are stupid sometimes. We think about today or tomorrow whereas girls think about next year and 5 years from now.

Sorry to get so philosophical on you guys. I just have been doing a lot of thinking while listening to my Ipod walking around various cities like Paris, London, Nuremberg, etc.

Anyway, I woke up really early. I didn't sleep much. My hottie girl called and wants to meet up before work for a drink then I'll go out with her on another date tonight to the movies at ChipiChope mall. FLHobbyer's girl called me too. She noticed I had no Salsa music on my Ipod so she said she wanted to give me a gift of a Salsa CD. I have a busy day planned but I thought that was a nice gesture and will stop by and pick it up later in the afternoon after I visit my girl.

I went to very few clubs. I did try Casa de la cerveza but it's a restaurant not a club. There are "beautiful girls" there. Many are with other dudes. I haven't had a chance to hit the other clubs. I've been on dates almost every night. I much prefer to go to nice restaurants or a pub with my dates and talk. I don't really dance although I'd love to learn. I had a lesson the other day but I was on a date and I missed it.

As far as the best place. I'd say it's ChipiChope mall. Go there on a friday or saturday night. It's unbelievable how many gorgeous girls there are. Many are with their friends. Many are with their dates. It's amazing how the girls even with their boyfriends will stare at you almost to say, "if I wasn't with my boyfriend I'd give you my phone number".

It should be pointed out that scoring with the non-pros isn't automatic. Just like in any country these Calenas aren't going to cream in their jeans just because you have a US passport. You have to at least be presentable. I'm not saying you have to be young, Brad Pitt, etc. Do the best you can. Focus on other things. If you're not in the best of shape, go out and get some nice clothes, groom yourself the best you can. Practice up on your Spanish. That is the biggest skill I can tell you. Speaking Spanish is the biggest key here. It's impossible to score a non-pro hottie girlfriend here if you can't speak Spanish. I wouldn't even recommend coming here unless you speak at least a little Spanish.

I think part of the reason why the locals are so friendly with me is because I start off by telling each new person I meet how wonderful the people are here. I joke around with them. That right away puts people at ease. Imagine a guy from Haiti going to Chicago and not being able to speak English. Do you think the locals are going to treat this guy that nice. Imagine if he got in a taxi, went to the grocery store, went to the mall. What kind of reception will he get in OUR country?? Exactly. Learn some Spanish.

I'm amazed that Americans don't have the desire to learn foreign languages. I've met so many guys that go over and over to Brazil. I'm talking every other month yet they can't or don't want to learn basic Portuguese. The same thing goes for other countries. Speaking Spanish in Cali is vital to having a good and arguably a safe trip. Again, my Spanish isn't great. I mean I can understand maybe 80% of everything. I've never had a difficult time getting across what I want to say and I'm able to speak as fast as most locals. I just have to improve my vocabulary. I think I'm up to about 20,000 words or so.

Anyway, I´m here at Chipi Chope. I just finished having lunch with Antifreeze. Damn. This is probably one of the most intelligent, philosophical guys that I´ve ever met not only in the hobby but outside of the hobby as well. We think alike on almost all universal issues. I agree with you about doing nice things. I never do nice things expecting something out of it. I´m the type of guy that does nice things for the sake of doing it. It makes me feel good and I know the people appreciate it and that is good enough for me. For me, being nice pays so many dividends. I always come across guys that say not to tip X% but you can´t measure life in dollars and cents. I´m a happy guy and I like the way I do things. I also think people can sense that about me and I think that´s half the reason why I´ve been so lucky with girls. Girls like a guy that always has a smile on his face. What the hell do I have to complain about?

This is probably my last update this trip. Sadly, I'm leaving tomorrow morning. I had another good day. It's been interesting getting to know the people and the city of Cali. The nicest group of people I have ever known.

I met my novia for some drinks before she went to work after I hooked up with Antifreeze. I think I could sit for hours just staring into her eyes. Physical attraction is important but the thing about these Calenas is they are genuinely sweet. (ellas son muy carinosas y muy dulces!) I laughed a few times because when I was in Cuba with my buddy Seaman our theme chant everyday when we'd get together that we'd all say is, "una chica muy linda, con una cara muy bonita, un buen cuerpo, con un corazon grande y muy carinosa!" (a very pretty girl, with a very pretty face, a good body with a big heart that is very affectionate).

Those guys razzed me because every time a girl asked me what kind of girl I liked I would dole out that answer. Every single time so he and TAD would chant that every day. Pretty soon we'd be in our rental car and just chant out those words. It was pretty funny. Seaman, if you are reading this you'll be happy to know that I'm finding all those qualities in these girls.

Some generally interesting things I noticed is that places like McDonald's, Subway, etc. are here. And you know what? They are making a fortune. You have to understand that the price of an extra value meal here is not cheap. In fact, it's just a little less than one in the USA but these people don't make much. I've met lots of non-pro girls that work 6 days a week and only make 600,000 pesos a month (about $225) yet they are eating at McDonalds. You know what? I think it's sort of a status symbol thing. They want to be able to say to their friends or other family members... "hey, I took my family to McDonald's last night". It's really strange to see all the McDonald's packed.

The other thing is do you think all these US businesses would be doing business here if it was as dangerous as people portray Columbia to be? While I will admit that Columbia statistically is a dangerous country and Antifreeze threw out some statistics to me that weren't too good, I find it a little gem.

I can honestly say that most hobbyist probably shouldn't come if they are only looking to score with the pros. There are way better cities like Buenos Aires and Rio. I seriously doubt Cali will become a mainstream destination.

Some guys might be worried about "getting ripped off" here. The thing they don't realize is there is no big tourism industry here so the locals probably wouldn't even know where to begin.

There are private casas in many many many sections of towns. Just ask a taxi. The selection might not be that good but it doesn't hurt to go. There is no entrance fee and you don't have to do the "walk of shame"past the girls if you don't pick them since they do a line up one by one then leave the room.

I even have a few of the pros calling me daily. The hot FF girl called today but I couldn't pick up the phone because I was with my girl. If you rent a Bell South cellphone you can buy rechargable cards all over the malls at the Bell South stands or in most major supermarkets. They come in 10,000; 20,000 and 30,000 peso refills. They might have higher too but just get a little at a time. I find the cell phones to be expensive here. You dial *611 to add refill credits and to check your balance. It's all in Spanish. Just dial 1 to add credits and 2 to check your balance.

If you're calling a local NON-cell phone from your cell phone you need to dial 032 before the local # or it won't work. If you speak Spanish definitely rent a cellphone so you can talk with the chicas.

Remember what I said about first impressions. These girls like guys that dress well. To them it's a signal that you have your sh*t together and can take care of yourself. They take good care of themselves and even in the malls like ChipiChope you'll see free big industrial scales that have a sign that say, "Watch your weight". Sh*t... the American girls could sure use those, huh?

Anyway, I'm waiting on my girl. She is coming over to pick me up then we're going to the movies at ChipiChope. Some of you PMéd me asking where I went to dinner last night. It was a place in the South of Cali called, Rancho de Jonas. Her family picked it out. It was ok. Outdoor patio type place with a mariachi band. Food was pretty decent but not fabulous.

Also, I wanted to point out that I type extremely fast. I type what I am thinking so my posts are genuine. I hope I don't come across as arrogant jerk because I'm really not that kind of guy. A few of you on the board truly know me and know what kind of person I am. One of my buddies told me that my posts come across as arrogant. I told him I'm not going to change the type of person I am. I've always tried to help people and I've never asked for anything in return. Just my 2 cents.

If you come to Cali, please respect their culture, respect their citizens and importantly respect these precious flowers that are the girls of Cali. If you are a sicko that is into chasing underage girls or some other form of dengenerate I'd stay away from Cali if I were you. Antifreeze told me he has come across a few. I have a feeling if you are an ass here you could get yourself into a lot of sh*t quickly.

Thank you, GF, for a very intriguing and facinating trip report. I have read each of your reports for quite a while now and I have not seen such enthusiasm before. I am happy tht Cali is so good for you and after looking at the pix that you have posted in the past, the lady that has gotten so much of your attention must be very, very special.

A while back, an enthusiastic poster with the intials "BT" caused me to get very interested in visiting Rio. I visited Rio and have been back repeatedly, more pleased with each visit. I was not a novice traveler, many visits to central america and eastern europe. I had even visited Cartegena. But the posts by this fellow "BT" intrigued me to the point that I simply had to go there. I got to meet this fellow on my 2nd trip to rio and I thanked him for sharing his experiences.

Your reporting about your time in Cali has tagged me similarly to the "BT" posts about Rio. I will definitely go there sometime in the next few months. Thank you for this splendid reporting.

I’m sitting here at the Miami airport. Damn I hate connecting through Miami. It’s always a zoo. I thought I’d give details of departing Cali’s airport. Damn, it’s a zoo. My flight left at 8:15 AM so I was told to leave my hotel at 5 AM. I had to get up at 4 AM. I only slept two hours so I’m dead. Everyone told me it could take a while to go through the airport so I took their advice and left by 5 AM. If you are flying First/Business or you’re Platinum/EXP you don’t have to leave so early since you avoid the long lines. The regular line was long but I zipped through the First Class line.

You should note that before you go through the ticketing agent you need to go upstairs to get a waiver form so you don’t get socked with extra taxes. Your airline should have already taxed you the $25 however, if you don’t go upstairs and get the waiver form and your passport stamped you must pay extra money. Go upstairs then go to your left and there is a small window with a guy working. He will ask for your passport and will stamp it and fill out a form then hand it back to you. Go back downstairs and get in line and you’re set. The airport was the only place I went where a few people spoke English (only the American Airlines employees).

At the entrance of the door to say goodbye there were all these people crying. You have to understand that Columbians have it extremely tough. They need visas for just about every single country except Peru, Argentina, Brazil and maybe a handful of other countries. The ones that are lucky enough to go to the USA take it, sometimes even if it means leaving family members behind. I’ve never seen so many people crying at an airport before and I’ve been to quite a few airports. It broke my heart to see what these family members were going through. Imagine your mom leaving alone with your sister while you’re standing there with your dad and your other sisters and brothers. That’s what I saw. The father looked at me and I just gave him a kind of “I’m sorry amigo look”. I was also sad to leave my new novia behind but I can’t even compare it to these people.

Seeing this scene made me realize just how damn lucky we are as Americans. It just doesn’t seem fair to me that we have it easier just because we are born just a few thousand miles north of these people. Unfortunately the majority of these people will never have the opportunity to improve their life too much. No one wants to loan them money even if they have a good idea or they are intelligent or have a good business sense. Kind of like in the US where banks only want to lend you money if you already have money except much much worse.

I did meet a few people that were lucky to get visas but they stayed behind because of almost the exact situation as the family above. In one case the father and mother and 2 of their kids got visas but 2 didn’t. Rather than split up the family members they all stayed behind. There is no rhyme or reason to the decision making process of giving out visas.

I also met others here that lived in the USA before and came back. They made it through the difficult process of getting a visa but they found life in the USA disenchanting. Everyone thinks the USA is this easy place where great jobs are falling likes leaves off a tree. Where money is easy to make. The reality is the USA is one of the easiest countries in the world to make a little bit of money and difficult to make a lot of money. These people were working 2 or 3 jobs just to pay for their rent, food, kid’s clothes, medical bills. They came to the USA to improve their lives but they were slaves working daily to break even.

Another person that I met that fell in that category was my taxi driver back to the airport. He was a cool guy. His name is Felix Franco. Younger at 40 years old and his English is perfect. He is easy going and I just really got a good feeling from him. If you speak little to no Spanish or even if you do he is a good guy to call to use as a driver or translator. Most of these guys in Cali charge about $10 - $15 an hour. I told him I know some guys that might come to Cali. I got the price down to $8 an hour for you and if you use him more than 6 hours a day he’ll drop it down to $6. Just tell him “Santo” sent you and he’ll take good care of you. I’ve been fortunate to meet good people. I’m a good judge of character and this guy will take good care of you. It’s funny in the taxi we were talking about how hot the Caleñas are and he told me I’d like the Paisas too. He married one. I asked him how in the hell he can be married here with so many hot girls. He told me honestly he wakes up and the first thing he does is pray to God that he can be strong and not give into temptation. Ha! Talk about a strong guy. He also told me that sometimes he feels lucky not to be wealthy here because there would be too many temptations with the opportunities it would bring.

The ironic thing is even if you had a ton of money you probably couldn’t spend it. I mean, you don’t want to stand out too much. You can’t have too nice of a house; you can’t buy a nice car, etc. I was surprised to see not even one convertible in a town with perfect weather for a convertible but it’s just too dangerous I’m told. I only saw American and Asian cars. I only saw one BMW the entire 10 days I was there. Cars are expensive here.

I originally was only staying 5 days so I just had a back pack and a Travel Pro 22’ suitcase. You can actually pack a lot in those Travel Pro’s. I went through customs which was easy. Here is where I made my mistake. I went into the Admiral’s Club which is immediately to the right after Passport Control. The airport is hot and humid with no air conditioning. The Admiral’s Club isn’t that nice here but the air conditioning is extremely strong. There was no one at the front desk so I imagine anyone can use it since no one checked if I was a member. There is only coffee and orange juice. They didn’t even have bottled water. They did have CNN though in English.

I was dead tired and fell asleep. I woke up and it was 7 AM. Perfect… so I thought since my plane didn’t leave till 8:15 and boarding started at 7:30 AM. I go out and I see this long ass line. I think to myself sh*t! To make matters worse there is only one x-ray machine, a drug sniffing dog and they were frisking everyone so the process is slow. If you come here skip the admiral’s club and just go to your gate. I waited there one hour. Yes, you heard that right. The only comforting thing was that many in line behind me were on my flight too so I knew the plane wasn’t going anywhere.

So I finally get to the front of the line. The guy decides to open up my suitcase and take out EVERYTHING. It took me a while to pack since I bought some stuff and it was jam packed. They even checked the lining. They made me turn on my laptop. It took forever. If you use drugs I highly advise to leave them at home or don’t do them this trip. This isn’t the country you want to get locked up in. Also, in Miami the first thing you see is drug sniffing dogs. I’ve never done any drugs in my life and glad after hearing some of the problems they caused some of these people.

I’m on my plane now and missing Cali. There is a guy sitting next to me on the plane and I told him I went to Cali and he looked at me like I was out of my mind. He told me how dangerous it is. I asked if he’d been there and he said no. I do realize that statistically Columbia is a dangerous country. I was only there 10 days. I can honestly say that I felt as safe in Columbia as I did in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In fact, I’d say I saw more shady characters in the Copacabana area than I saw in all of Cali.

I will definitely be back here. Maybe in as few as 3 weeks. Good or bad I started some sort of relationship with my girl here. Guys should realize with the sweet innocent girls you’re not going to jump in bed right away with them. It may take a few dates. There is a reason they are slaving their asses off making nothing rather than sleeping with tons of guys making a lot more money. These girls are sweet and many are innocent. I’m ok with the courtship phase. It’s been a while since I’ve gone through this with a non-pro girl. When I’ve dated “working girls” I’ve always justified it’s ok to sleep with other girls since she is working anyway. I guess I can’t make that excuse anymore.

It was sweet at the movies my girl told me that she is breaking up with her boyfriend tomorrow. I was pretty honest with her. I told her that I’ve really met a lot of girls all around the world and in my life. I also told her that I haven’t been able to forget her which is true. I asked her how much she makes working at the salon 6 days a week (sometimes 7) and I was floored when she told me only 350,000 pesos a month (less than $150). I couldn’t believe it. I know her family struggles but they seem like they have a happy life.

They are so wonderful together and love each other so much. You should have seen them at dinner that one night. I’ve never seen a stronger bond and a better relationship. I was actually envious and wished I had that kind of family growing up. I had the things that most would consider essential: living in a nice house in a nice neighborhood, went to the best private schools, didn’t lack for food or clothing etc. but I can’t remember a time when I experienced what I witnessed that night at dinner with her family.

Anyway, after the movie it was late but I asked her brother if I could walk around with her a bit alone and talk. I gave him some money to buy a drink but I didn’t see anything open. I’m not sure if this was a right move or not but I gave her some money and I told her that I wanted to help her. I told her not to work so hard and to take more English classes. She is only taking English classes 2 nights a week but has made very little progress since she can’t study too much. She wouldn’t take the money at first but I reasoned with her and by the end of the conversation she had tears in her eyes and was thanking me. She told me she couldn’t believe she met me. I told her that I’m not a wealthy guy but I will help whenever I can and I’ll be there for her. We kissed and we just held one another for a while. Neither of us really had to say anything but we both had the same look in our eyes. It was a bittersweet moment.

Maybe some of you that live in Columbia can tell me if this was an OK move or not what I did. I didn’t want to offend her and she certainly wasn’t offended. She never asked for anything from me. Sometimes I just like helping out a little. I’m not expecting anything in return for this. I did it in Buenos Aires too where I met a girl working in a restaurant slaving her ass off. I had no romantic interests in her even though she was cute and expressed interest in me. I gave her about $150 (500 pesos) a month for several months. I opened up a US bank account and added her name and added money in it. It helped her get a tourist visa and she now is living in Europe. We keep in touch from time to time and she always tells me that she will never forget what I did for her and will pay me back someday. I’m not writing this to hear what a great guy I am. I don’t think it’s anything special. I just think sometimes in life you have to do nice things for the sake of doing them. I feel so happy that my friend is happy now in Europe. She would have never gotten anywhere in Argentina. Some of you have met her. She handed out flyers at one of the restaurants on Junin street in Recoleta. I hope this in some way inspires other guys to help others in some small way.

Even if I don’t stay with this girl I’m thinking of telling her that I’ll give her 600,000 pesos a month (almost double her monthly salary) if she agrees to take English classes full-time. It no doubt will help her have a happier future. Her best friend lives in the USA and she doesn’t seem to have a big desire to live in Cali. She has no friends in Cali and is kind of a home body. She doesn’t go out much. I asked her mom at dinner if she would miss her daughter if she moved to the USA and her mom had a tear in her eye and told me that her daughter is her life. She loves her more than she loves herself. She told me though that if knowing that her daughter was happy and had a legitimate chance of a good future she would be happy. It was a Hallmark moment. I know some of this sounds gushy. If so, stop reading. No one is forcing you to read this.

Many emotions and thoughts are going through my head right now but I’m so happy that I went to Columbia. I didn’t know what to expect but it was a very enriching experience if you couldn’t tell from my diary. Sometimes you just have to do something impulsive. I just got a ticket on a whim with very little notice. Life is short and you have to take advantage of the time you have. I truly hope some of you were able to gain some valuable information from my diary. Whether it was hobby info or just normal everyday life stuff in Cali, I hope you could take something positive out of it.

Great report. I was wondering if you have been to any other cities in Colombia. I have been to Bogota twice and to Cartagena twice. I really liked both but I prefer Bogota. I am going back to Bogota in July and now I am thinking of dropping down to Cali for a few days because of your report. I am going to Buenos Aires for the first time in May again due to some of your reporting. Where are we going next?

Bootyman - I just reserved a ticket to return to Columbia in 3 weeks. I think I might go to Medellin for a few nights. As far as next trips I have many trips planned. In two weeks I'm going to Monte Carlo, Nice, St. Tropez, Cannes in the French Riviera for a week. From there I am planning to fly to Cali to see my girl.

Hemp - Thanks amigo. I've never met you either but from all your reports you seem like a good guy. I agree that it's my business about the money thing. I was just curious what some guys that live down there thought. I was happy to help her and others and I'll keep doing it.

I truly believe that what comes around goes around. I've always thought that in life. A lot of guys criticized me in past reports for "wasting money". I don't look at it that way. Life is what you make of it.

I miss Cali but I was thinking last night after I arrived home that we truly live in the best country in the world. I could never have this house I live in anywhere in the world. I mean, we have the best restaurants, best opportunities. The only thing we are lacking is a pool of really beautiful, sweet, caring girls that we are attracted to and want more with. In all reality, if we could import our girls for 25% of girls from Argentina, 25% from Brazil, 25% from Columbia and 25% from Russia I doubt any of us would ever leave our country.

Thanks Seaman. (I think). She doesn't seem to go out much. Even her mom told me that she prefers to stay at home rather than go out. She looks older than she is and seems more mature too. Still, I'm not too sure how much of a long term relationship I can have with a girl that doesn't speak English and that is uneducated. I tend to be realistic. I'd never get tired of looking at her pretty face and her sweetness but I think in the end you gotta have things in common. Still, I'm willing to try and see what happens. I'm pretty sure I'm headed back to Cali in 2 weeks or so.

I think I'll make a side trip to Medellin too. Flights are less than $100 from Cali to Medellin on Avianca Airlines.

P.S. Some people have emailed me asking what the downsides were to that Hotel I stayed in. There were several disadvantages but the owner, Rigo, was such a gregarious and friendly guy it overshadowed the bad things. Still, I'll point out what I thought could be improved.

My bed wasn't too comfortable. It was much much better than the so called mattresses they have in Cuba but not near as comfortable as most hotel beds. You have to keep in mind this is basically just a huge house and he rents out rooms. Another was the pillows. The pillows were quite bad. If I stayed there again, I'd bring my own pillows. The other thing was they are doing construction on the house right now and adding on more rooms so construction workers start semi-early in the morning around 8 or 9 AM. You can't sleep in with the noise. I had hot water and there were only maybe 2 times when the hot water ran out mid-way during shower and I did take one cold shower late one morning. Also, the rooms were very dim at night. Maybe you can ask for stronger lightbulb.

I'm not sure what you can expect for $45 a night though. He has rooms for $35 a night and bigger apartments for $45 a night. Something I didn't know was that he charges a $10/night guest fee if you have a guest more than 1 hour so the apartments I guess must go for $55 a night. That is a bit high for Cali standards. I think you can get a room at the Intercontinental for about $75 a night + tax. When I go back I'll probably try another hotel but I'd still be tempted to use him again just because he was such a nice guy. My trip wouldn't have been as good without staying there.

Another thing is that I got bit by several mosquitos in my room. However, I'm the type that mosquitos love. I can be in a room with 100 people and I'll be the only one that gets bitten. I'd recommend you bring a Citronella candle.

There is a company I use to buy a bunch of travel related stuff. I go to so many different countries sometimes it's nice to have some of this stuff. I've bought many many many products from them and can recommend them highly.

Regarding mosquitos. In the supermarkets in Colombia, like Carulla you can buy the modern version of Citronella candle.

When in Cartagena, I plug it in every night, with a fresh refill, in Medellin, I just plug it in when needed, there are far less mosquitos here. If left plugged in overnight you will need a new refill the next day.

Can't remember the name, but you plug it into the wall like airfreshners, it costs about $3 with four refills. You then buy boxs of refills for next to nothing.

Thanks for the advice Hunter. I might have to get a few of those. I bought some Citronella candles from that website listed above for an upcoming trip to Lima/Cusco/Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) next month. I HATE mosquitoes but they seem to love me.

I think I'll buy my ticket this week or early next week. I have it reserved until the 15th. I've been talking to my novia every day but just not sure if I'm cut out for this kind of relationship. It would be a lot easier if she had a visa so I could fly her in and she could speak English. Also, she is a little too young for me but we'll see how it goes.

I'm dreading the flying though. I'd be flying to French Riviera next week then stay there a week then fly into Miami the following week then fly to Cali that same afternoon. That's a ton of flying.

Still, I'm looking forward to returning to Cali and kind of just relaxing. I think I'll stay in a nicer hotel this time though. I need a good bed.

Volunteers test vaccine drink to protect against diarrhoea :

Travellers will soon be able to drink a vaccine that protects them against the most common cause of diarrhoea.

The experimental vaccine worked well in a preliminary clinical trial at St George's Hospital Medical School in London and will begin more extensive tests in the US later in the year.

Microscience, a biotechnology company based at Wokingham in Berkshire, has developed the vaccine against the bacterium known as "enterotoxigenic E.coli" or Etec. Although many different germs can cause diarrhoea, microbiologists estimate that Etec is responsible for about 60 per cent of cases in people travelling from the industrialised world to developing countries. It kills about 500,000 people a year, mainly children living in the poorest parts of the world.

Travellers will probably need to drink a cupful of the vaccine a week or two before travelling. Protection should last six months or so.

The first trial, involving 36 volunteers at St George's, showed the Etec vaccine had an excellent safety profile and produced the required immune response. "The results exceeded expectations," said Steve Chatfield, Microscience chief scientist. "They pave the way for the development of a whole new generation of oral vaccines which are safe, easy to administer and effective."

In the next stage, healthy volunteers who receive the vaccine will be exposed to live Etec bacteria. "This will take place in the US where there is a better set-up for doing phase II vaccine trials," said Dr Chatfield.

More extensive trials will take place among people travelling to areas where Etec is endemic. The vaccine could receive regulatory approval for commercial sale within five years.

Analysts estimate that the world market for vaccines against travellers' diarrhoea is potentially worth several hundred million dollars a year. Although Chiron, the world's second largest maker of flu vaccines, markets Dukoral, an oral cholera vaccine that is also effective against Etec, Dr Chatfield said Microscience's product - aimed specifically at Etec - would give better protection against diarrhoea.

Acambis, another UK-based company, is also working on Etec vaccines.

They are working on vaccines for all kinds of viruses right now. It's mind boggling. They are in the final stages for a vaccine for genital warts. Thank God I've never contracted ANYTHING in my life.

Anyway, I've been on many adventures and never got sick. I think I know what I got sick from. A few restaurants had these condiments on the table to put on your steak. Like a little dish of about 6 different spices or seasonings. Some of them were oil based so I thought they'd be ok. Still, I wondered how long they had been sitting out. I think that's what made me sick.

I usually carry Cipro which usually clears up food poisoning right away but I forgot to pack them this trip. Oh well. You can sure bet I'll pack them next trip.

For the past 8 months, the drug boys have been killing each other at a high rate, if you see two men on one motorcycle you better find a good place to hide and fast.for the most part i have never had any trouble while there, stay in the city, if you go to the mts, either you will be stopped at a road block by police and asked for money or you will have a good shot at being grabbed and taken to the mts. The food at the hotel is great, a little high price tho, walk down past the front of the hotel and on the corner is a place that is just as good and is around half the price. If you pick up a lady that is not a pro,, watch your back,, they all have a boyfriend or two and if one is a drug boy he will have no trouble putting a hole somewhere in you that you don't need. Is cali safe? Yes, but remember those people work hard for little money, my girl is a dealer at one of the casinos and she works 6 days a week 12 hours a day for 175.00us a month!!! For 200 dollars any street police officer will shoot you and not think twice about it. To them a american is gold, if they grab you they boys in the mts. Will pay 1,000.00 for you, so stay in the city, stay with your guide, go places with him, don't carry lots of cash, watch your drink, they have a little drug there that they get from tree bark, it is a power and they can put it in your drink or blow it into your face before you know what is going on, and this stuff in some reported cases makes you a zombie. These girls know all the ins and outs. And all have a sad story about a sick mother or child and they hate doing what they do but they have to, to put food on the table. Cell phones are another sign that a girl is either a pro or working or she has a rich boyfriend, cell phones to us mean nothing, but they are high priced items to them and only those type have them, for the most part.
