By FLhobbyer on Saturday, June 05, 2004 - 05:52 pm:  Edit

I traveled to Cali for Memorial weekend. I don’t really have a trip report, as I only had three P4P sessions the entire time. The sex with the GFs was just too good that I didn’t need P4P, and infact after the first couple of days I didn’t really have much more to give except what was allocated to the GFs… except when I got that jones for some strange… you know how that can be :-)

Thus, I can’t offer much of a report per se… but I will present here a collection of posts (near copies of posts) of information which with I’m updating the applicable Cali Topics. My style is more shotgun detail type reporting versus beautiful entertaining prose, sorry if you don't find it so entertaining...

Here's the review of my P4P experiences:

B.player and I spent two different afternoons touring casitas. Basically we started with the list of ‘smaller houses’ as seen somewhere previously, which I think was copied from WSG (a different site). We spent one day visiting about 5 in the North on our way to Chipechape, and the next day visiting about 10 in the South on the way to Unicentro. This was made possible by purchasing a great street map of Cali in the gift shop (book store?) in the back part of the mimi-mall in the Hotel IC (only $300.000!). We plotted all the casas on the map, and then knowing which neighborhoods were to be avoided (we know Cali that well enough) we went in geographical sequence, often having a driver wait while one or both of us went in to meet the girls. We didn’t find many keepers (we are very picky, and have similar tastes in the very thin, very latina-looking, look at Kelley Giselle of Las Professionals or Nicole from Kaliente or the hottie from FF type), but when we did we ran out and paid the driver and started with a new taxi after sessioning or when we could walk to 2-3 at once.

B.player kept written notes (off of a printout of that sheet) on what girls he liked, how much each place costs, cleanliness, hours of operation, etc. Nearly all places were $20.000 or $25.000 for 20 minutes, $30.000/$40.000 for 30/60 minutes. He plans to do a write up with all info, and I’ll copy it here if he does. But, I seem to remember from a conversation after I returned (he’s there for a month) that he lost the sheet. Oh well, I can always answer questions on a specific place.

To continue with my P4P experiences, I’ll use a collection of posts in the Topic section:

FARON

B.player and I hit both Faron spots one night - didn't see anything we wanted to session with, and were dissapointed there weren't any true hotties per our tastes... anyway by this day in the trip we were viewing another session as not a must-have.

Both let us in without cover, as we left within less than 5 mintues.

KALIENTE

B.Player and I had an amazing night out of here. First, I confirm the inhouse prices, but note that we were charged $200.000 for 3 hours session at B's apartment.

Sunday night we arranged for Nicole and Angelina for a mini-festa - unlimmitted switching during the three hours. B made the mistake of negotiating, and agreed to price before first asking about BBBJ or photos - Angelina wouldn't do BBBJ (too late to force the issue once you agree on the price, but I'll bet if you make it a condition of being chosen - not explicitly but more implying that you'd choose someone else maybe - she'd do it)... Nicole did give me a very short BBBJ.

Funny, I hadn't gone back here and read about Kaliente, nor re-read Godfather's nor Merlin's trip reports since original postings - but B and I ended up taking the two girls that a lot of us seem to agree upon... and most guys have different taste than me or us I think.

Angelina told me her and Nicole are from Armenia, and they knew eachother before living in Cali. The girls had just returned from a work run in Papayon, a town about 1 hour south (2 hrs?), where there is a Kaliente owned by the same guy. I think she said they have the same prices there (I talked with one of them about if she liked Cali better as I guessed it paid more and she said no it's the same - but she still likes Cali better for the party).

The girls were total GFE, Angelina a more quiet type and Nicole a crazy party girl (in all ways).

I highly recommend either of these girls, if you want to pay higher end.

I think Godfather did a better job of shooting both, but here I’ll offer a few photos (neither girl wanted to allow photos, another point of issue I had with B.player’s negotiation – or lack thereof – skills).

CASA DE DR. AMOR

B.Player and I hit Dr. Amor as part of our day-long survey of northern casitas. We both sessioned, and I can confirm prices are $20.000/$30.000/$40.000 for 20/30/60 minutes. We were real picky and the only two girls worthy (his was real worthy, mine was a borderline but second choice). We visited both places (they have two on the same block). Nothing like Kaliente or FF hot - but for the price a great deal (US$7 short-time - that's Asia pricing, no?).

That’s it for the P4P. The rest is info on bars and discos, and the hotel. Those looking to be entertained can quit now (if they haven’t already!):

Mysti-K sucked on Thursday night, it was empty…Forum next door was rocking!, lots of pretty young girls.

Friday night we went to Baiou (how to spell this? Pronounced Bá-yal), the disco in Yumba, had a live salsa band… we got there late and it was lame and only say 10% full; The place I knew as OX (Jul-03 visit), up on the hill in Memba (or still Yumba?) now has two different outdoor places on the complex… I don’t remember the name of the new one and I didn’t see a sign for the place I know was OX but may have changed its name?… both looked pretty good, and B did a walkabout before we committed to either with cover for us and dates.

Saturday night we stayed in the hood and hit Barclays, a bar on Av. Sexta. I was with my GF and B.player was solo as his date blew him off last-minute (sounds like South Beach, damn). We sat at the bar and drank beers, while B.player hit on a number of girls and basically took home the hottest single girl there (there were pleny of dates/groups). The girl, with her two friends, was visiting from Baranquilla. B probably bought 3 rounds, getting her nice and happy, and she went from being the coldest in the group to making out with him. At that point her two friends left to go home, leaving her there alone with him (like you’d see that in Miami – the girlfriends setting you up vs. cock-blocking you!). He said she was awesome in bed, totally GFE, into all kinds of sex, and a total non-pro. I saw her the next night walking on the Sexta with a dude, without her girlfriends, when I was with my GF who had just finished work at 10p and wanted a quick bite to eat.

Beers were like $5.000 each, what a great deal.

Man, we thought this place was so strange in a way. We were in front sitting the bar, and when we hit the head you walk thru and see that there were over 100 people there – all sitting at tables and watching MTV2 videos of rock and roll – stuff like Guns and Roses, Nirvana, Floyd, Pearl Jam, etc. Wow, not electronic music nor hip hop… it was like 1982 in there – people sitting watching MTV!. Not very South Beach at all!

HOTEL PLAZA LAS AMERICANAS

I stayed 5 nights here. I really liked it, but did have numerous "small" problems. Not sure if they are sufficient to make me not say here - it's that nice (see the IC Topic to understand my preferences when it comes to a hotel).

I changed rooms after one night. They had a ton of construction and it work me up all morning (9a-noon I'd guess). They told me that the construction was next door, and not much they could do... makes sense as their pool will be next door... but they are currently remodeling the 2nd floor... I requested they move me to the opposite side of the building, and higher up. No problem, and my new room was cozy quiet all other mornings.

My first attempt at a shower (1st room) there was no hot water. I called and they opened a different room for me to use that shower. Mine was hot by the time I returned... but my second room also had no hot water at first, and I waited 30 minutes for them to fix it (central heater I guess). I told them I wanted 24/7 hot water, with no phoning required, and they apologized and said that 24/7 is the norm, and I never had another problem.

My first room had normal central AC with control, but I canged and had a room with no AC control. I told them to leave it on 24/7, whether I was there or not, and they complied. The room got a little cold at times, and once we even called to request it turned off (as they told me I could call 24/7 as needed regarding AC on/off).

My first room had no safe, the second did... not large enough for a laptop but otherwise the standard smaller size... digital 4-digit settable passcode.

Thus, there were many small problems, and some quirky things, but still I have to give the place a thumbs up. I asked the manager for a discount on my first night due to noise and no hot water, and she agreed but the bill at check out (4a!) didn't show it... they promised an adjustment.... The staff is way way friendly, and happy to help you. All the front desk and bell staff are young.

The place is super new, with remodelling of all rooms in process or completed. I was told a pool would open in a couple of months. Each room has really clean and nice enough tile, fresh paint, floor to roof marble (fake marble?) tile in the bathroom, and every room is a suite. Here are some photos and a video of my room:

Rates include daily breakfast (coffee, juice, pastries, eggs and fruit) and there is no charge for local phone calls (I wasn't charged) - very nice! We missed the 6a-9a breakfast window, and twice at 10a they delivered it to the room. I didn’t inquire regarding other room service, so likely it’s not available as Merlin previously reported. I paid $139.000 for a double, and I wasn't charged for visitors (as promised when I made the reservation).

Location is very nice, about 1/2 between the IC and Chipechape. One night after a late snack on Av. Sexta, I motioned to get a cab, and my GF said no way and made us walk to the hotel - it's only 4-5 short blocks from a central part of the Sexta. I could have forced the issue on the taxi, but we walked and I saw others, a lone woman and another couple, and it proved quite safe a neighborhood (or so she told me and I found it that way).

There is an ATM across the streed (didn’t try it) and an Olympic grocery store around the corner and ¾ of a block away.

AIRPORT MONEY

I didn’t see an ATM upon exiting customs, but there may be one outside up some stairs. I had pesos saved from a previous trip, so made no notice of more.

ATTIRE

I really took notice of how guys dressed at the malls in the day (I hit Chipechape or Unicentro each day). I just get to hot, so I wear nice kacki shorts. I was conscience that I’d not look attractive to some girls, but I knew my game (not that I’m some top player) and sufficient Spanish with gringo accent would compensate just fine once in conversation… and it’s not like I’m shy when it comes to starting conversations with chicas…

So I did notice that on all but Sunday I saw maybe one, o.k. at most two Colomianos had shorts. All wore jeans or slacks. On Sunday I counted maybe 5 of them. So, if you really want or need to look ‘upscale’, shorts are a MAJOR “no”.

Hope it helps!

Thanks for the good write up. I'm glad the hotel worked out for you and they definitely need to do something about the little things there. Once that's done, and they get the pool in, this place will be a classy hotel. The streets around the hotel were actually safe, I walked to most places, even at nights, from Ave Sexta, Floras Frescas, Kaliente, Faroan, etc. with no problems.

I'm surprised Faroan, especially Del Norte, had no lookers. They usually had a few each time I went. It may require just hanging out for awhile as some girls were upstairs eating, others came to work late, and some girls did not come every day.

You were at baiao, the right spelling, on Friday night? So was I and I mentioned it in my report that is where I was frisked 3 times. I was there with Mari and you must have seen me on the dance floor making fool of myself as Mari was trying to teach me Salsa. What time did you arrive and leave? I think I left around 2:00 AM or so. Did you have a booth or were you sitting on bar stools? Damn, we missed each other may be by inches. First in the same plane and then at baiao.

Thanks for the write up FLhobbyer, one question, I plan on going to Cali for a couple of weeks.

Would you recommend the IC over this hotel

jkarp, I read your report, but you didn't remember the name of the place in your report... still I suspected that it might be Baiao except you said it was full... We arrive after midnight, maybe as late as 1:15a, and it was kind of empty (maybe we arrived late?). I've been there once before, when it was a normal night (no band, techo music way toooooo loud) and it was jam packed - bodies in every seat/stool and crowded and I assumed or was told (don't remember) that packed crowded was the norm.

There is tight security there and triple frisking - I find that at many places (Mission, Tienda Vieja) as those are the places that people with some money go, and in Cali if you have money odds are strong your in the drug or ancilary businesses or connected to those in the business.

We had a little table with stools, in the back by the bar. We only stayed for about 20 minutes as it seemed not so happening and B.player was in need of meeting a girl... all the girls in Baiao were with dudes or in groups - and we felt it just wasn't safe to approach any of them. So we moved on to OX (or whatever it's called now).

Did you see this one girl, she was at a booth in the corner, closest to the band/stage? If you were waking into the place, it would be far left and all the way down the stairs. That table had 2 couples, and this women had one of the best bodies I'd seen in a while. She looked a lot (from a distance) like the girl at FF that wears the jeans with the '21' printed on one leg. The guy was older, heavier and not what I'd guess is so good looking - so we suspected she might be on a working date. There was another girl, super thin and with maybe the best ass I saw the entire trip - she was with a group of 1 or 2 guys and 4 or 5 girls, the had a table with stools right in the middle of the middle section (close to the bar in the back) - did you notice her?

Merlin, I too was very surprised that Faron and del Norte didn't have something better. I had good success there in the past, and with their prices it was maybe my favorite place of my first trip. Now, B and I are quite picky...

We arrived about 9p. I hung out talking with the guys outside for a solid 10-15 mintues before walking back to the hotel, so I knew the the bulk of the girls had arrived. But I was told that they have no rules for the girls regarding the time a girl must arrive by. I'd still return to check it out again.

Hunter, I think I would pick among those two places, and maybe give consideration also to Rigo's in San Fernando. Rigo's won't be right for everyone, it's more B&B than hotel. If you want a true hotel, then I'd make a decision based on what I wrote in the Hotel IC Topic section about the experience you prefer - local vs. tourist/luxury. If you like a large corporate hotel with all the typical stuff, but one that gives you that tourist feel, that's the IC. If you really enjoy that tourist feel as part of your limited vacation time, the that's definitely the IC. But if you dislike that aspect, and like to get a local feel, and can live without some of the things that differentiates an IC (e.g. room service, lots of staff in a lobby, a line up of taxis vs. a busy street where catching one can take a minute, maybe two) than I recommend the HPlA. If you choose HPlA, let me know and I'll give you pointers to smooth it out for you.

By Hunter on Sunday, June 06, 2004 - 06:16 pm:  Edit

I will probably stay at the HPlA, I will ask the taxi to go straight there from the airport and check it out, but from the pics and what you say, it sounds like my sort of place.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the details on attire - that can make SUCH a big difference. Especially if you are meeting non-pros in their environment.

It seems outside the US, the hotter the climate, the more you can tell who is the tourist by who wears shorts.

Also, I assume the $139,000 for the room was not US$139 but 139,000 pesos or appx. $US50.

Great report!

FLhobbyer, Baiao was fairly busy as there was one or two groups, which I suspected were gangs, there and when they left the place was not that busy. The girl that you are describing sitting on the corner I remember her as well. If you noticed there was another group which was mixed with blacks. I was sitting right in between that group and the girl you mentioned on the left hand side facing the fish tanks. I thought Mari had the greatest ass in the club but you may not have noticed it as we were mostly on the dance floor. I also remember the group you are mentioning almost middle of the club sitting on stools and there was a killer babe with them. The guy was kind of short and seemed very territorial as whenever I looked that way he gave me bad looks. Man I guess you are based in Florida and it is just over 3 hours flight to Cali and I could go there evey week. It takes me all day just to get to Florida as I am based in Sacramento and doing project in Minneapolis. If I ever get a project in Flordia I'll be in Cali or San Jose every weekend.

Yes, $139.000 is the price, just over US$50. That includes breakfast for two, and local phone calls, too, I think. You may want to discuss the potential problem/issue items on your check in, so that you get a room you like.

jkarp, you could always move... I wasn't born in FL ;-)
