A HOT TIME IN OBREGON; AUGUST '06. (PART ONE)
For months now, my Mexican friend in Hermosillo has been enticing me to make a trip to Obregon with him. He is married to a woman from there and his mother-in-law and most of her 14 children and large extended family live there.
I had a long 3 day weekend off. We arrived from Hermosillo on a Friday afternoon. We took the usual detour called the "Obregon libre" so we did not have to pay the toll. The road took us through a little Indian village called Bacum. I have traveled this way on previous trips to Obregon. It always breaks my heart when I see the little Indian kids begging for pesos on the side of the road. I always try to be generous.
Call me a sucker but those kids tug at my heart strings like you wouldn't believe.
The only TD club I know of in the Obregon area is located on this route. I believe it is called "Los Angeles"and it has been mentioned in posts about Obregon. It was closed when we drove by. I told my friend that I would like to check it out later and he agreed but we never did it on this trip.
Mi amigo, I will call him Jose, called some local hookers and arranged to have them meet us at a no tell motel later that night. It being a weekend night, I told Jose that I doubted that the no tell motel would let us stay all night. Other motels of that type in Mexico usually only rent rooms for a few hours on the weekends.
Jose told me not to worry. He said he was sure he could negotiate with the motel so we could have a room for all night.
The motel we chose is called Laguna and it is on the Obregon Libre road west of the city. Jose was successful in getting a Jacuzzi room for only $35 for the night!!
Unfortunately, as is usually the case, I got what I paid for. The room was a lot shabbier than what I am used to in Hermosillo. It was fairly clean but the carpet was shabby. I had to be careful where I stepped bare foot as sharp carpet tacks were sticking up from the floor. OUCH!! In addition, when I tried the shower and the Jacuzzi later, I discovered that hot water was not included in the deal!! BRRRR!!
I stopped my complaining about the room after a couple of drinks. Then the chicas arrived by taxi. I had to pay $300 pesos for their taxi as my friend said the girls lived on the other side of town.
This first pic is of Patty and Gloria standing on either side of me. I am about 5ft 11in tall so you can see how tall Gloria was. Without a doubt I feel Gloria was the best looking of the two.
Photos: Patty & Gloria 01 02
Patty said she has a lot of Indian blood and she looks it, being shorter with darker skin. Gloria looks like a more traditional Sonoran girl: tall with lighter skin. Gloria told me she was twenty. I am not sure how old Patty is but a would guess about the same.
Here are some more pics of Gloria smoking one of my good Mexican cigars.

I told Gloria that she looked like a Spanish lady, the way she was dressed. She seemed to like that comment.
My friend asked me which one I preferred. I chose Patty at once because she appeared to be the most passionate. She was very vocal and demonstrative, saying she loved gringos and cuddling up with me.
Patty does not have as great a body as Gloria but had nice firm titties that were lactating. She has a new born at home. Those of you guys that have read my earlier posts on this site know that I like mother's milk!
We filled the Jacuzzi but quickly went to the bed when we noticed there was no fucking hot water!
She gave me a fair CBJ and I then fucked her. She was just O.K. in bed. I was not attracted to her but with a Cialis on board had no trouble getting an erection but was unable to cum. I paid her $600 pesos.
Jose finished with Gloria in another room and they soon gave a knock on the door. We all had another drink and a smoke and Jose asked me if I wanted to trade girls with him.
I didn't hesitate and Jose left with Patty for his room next door.
I negotiated the same price with Gloria and wasted no time stripping off her dress. Her body was awesome! She gave a nice CBJ and then climbed on top of me. We fucked for awhile with her on top and then I told her to lay on her back so I could fuck her while looking at her beautiful face. To me, she is just a lovely as a lot of Playboy Playmates I have seen in the magazine: beautiful long legs, firm ass and nicely shaped titties not huge but with a lovely shape.
We fucked for about 15 minutes and then my friend and Patty barged in. This pissed me off and I yelled out: "Hey! This isn't a god damn porno movie set!". They quickly left and gave Gloria and I a little more time. I still couldn't cum. Must be side effect of the damn Cialis (?).
As the taxi was so expensive, my friend took the girls home in my pickup. I was in no shape to drive after having a few drinks. Besides I was exhausted! Just as they were leaving a torrential monsoon storm hit. When my friend returned he told me the driving was very difficult. I was just happy he and my truck returned in one piece.
The nice thing about the monsoon rain storm was that it cooled things down a bit. The heat, humidity and insects in Obregon in August were very oppressive. I thought Hermosillo was uncomfortable in August but I am now convinced that Obregon is worse because it is sub-tropical.
The next day, my friend and I paid a visit to his M-I-L at her ranch outside the city. She has lots of huge mango trees as well as various types of citrus, papaya and banana trees. There were also some tropical trees I could not even identify!
My friend asked his M-I-L for a box of mangoes to take home and one of his brother's in law quickly filled an old milk crate for him.
I picked about three to enjoy eating later as they are my favorite fruit in the whole world, especially fresh from the tree fruit. As my friend told me: from the tree to your mouth is the best!
I would have loved to take some home to Tucson but I didn't want to try to smuggle them through U.S. Customs. I tried on a previous trip and the agent told me they were not allowed due to some insect that they carry.

A HOT TIME IN OBREGON (PART TWO)
For the past year or so, my friend has been telling me about an desert island near Obregon that he considers a paradise. It is called Isla Huivulai. It is not a tourist destination at all. But a lot the local people use it as a weekend retreat to the beach. It is to the south of Obregon on the eastern shores of the Sea of Cortez.
I believe the major reason Isla Huivulai is not a tourist destination is because of the very poor road that leads to it. The Wikpedia says that Huivulai Island is located 45 Kilometers south of Obregon and 5 kilometers off the coast in the Gulf of California.
Coincidentally, the weekend we were in Obregon the local paper contained an article about Isla Huivulai highlighting the horrible road conditions. The article was titled: "Disfrutan el agua, no la via". My friend translated this to me as: "They enjoy the water, but not the road.".
The Wikpedia entry on Isla Huivulai also mentions a great variety of avian life and a very deep (90 meters) sweet water well creating an oasis. My friend had mentioned the sweet water well to me before.
The road is so full of pot holes that it took at least an hour to reach the coast from Obregon. My friend was driving and took a very circuitous route. I am not sure if I would be able to find my way back there very easily without him.
Before we left for the island we picked up Gloria at her home. She agreed to accompany us to the beach and for lunch that day.
We stopped in a little fishing village on the coast. I think it's name is also Huivulai but I am not sure. In this village was a seafood restaurant where we ate some the best shrimp and crab I have ever had. Here are some pics taken at that restaurant.
Photo: Gloria 05
As you can see, the restaurant was open air, under a palapa style roof. I was surprised how comfortable it was. I guess it was because it was right near the shore and there was a constant sea breeze. Just a few feet from the restaurant the heat and humidity were unbearable!
The weird thing about this restaurant was that the waitresses never brought us any menus. The bill for all three of us was not too bad though. About $300 pesos.
We then drove on to the island. You have to pay a toll of $30 pesos to drive on the shitty road that reaches the island. My friend called it a bridge but most of the road is only a few feet above the bay (called Bahia del Tobari). There is a very short bridge about half way to the island.
There was a Mexican guy in a government uniform standing all day on the bridge. He sure has a hot job! The bridge is so narrow that only one car can pass at a time and this guy directs the traffic to prevent head-on collisions. Here is a pic taken on the bridge.
Photo: Gloria 06
On the island there are very sandy roads. In some places the sand is pretty deep and I was afraid we would get stuck but my friend was driving and we didn't have any problems.
There are also some extensive dune areas where some people go four wheeling. I didn't take any pics of those areas on this trip.
Photo: Gloria 07
The Mexican military has a small camp there on the beach. My friend said that they patrol the coast for drug smugglers and have different training exercises.
It was interesting that I saw a lot of people in the water but almost no one wore a bathing suit. All the people I saw were swimming in their street clothes: T shirts and shorts. I saw no facilities on the part of the beach we visited. No bathrooms. Not even a refreshment stand selling beer or tacos.
Some people were driving on the beach. We saw some people camping in tents.
Sadly, there were no garbage cans so people just trashed the beach and the dunes with garbage. The water was the temperature of warm bath water. Definitely warmer than the water in the motel Jacuzzi! LOL!! I put my feet in the water but did not go swimming as it did not feel very refreshing.
We drank a beer on the beach and spent probably only about half an hour there before we decided to go back to Obregon. I asked my friend about the "sweet water spring". He said it was not possible to reach it in my truck as I do not have four wheel drive. We asked some people to take us there in a boat but were unsuccessful in finding any one willing to do it.
This photo was taken on the way back, showing the road back to the mainland with the Sierra Madre mountains in the distance.
On the way back, my friend started to ask Gloria if she wanted to go to my hotel with me to continue what we enjoyed the previous evening.
I did not follow the entire conversation as my Spanish is very limited.
My friend translated that Gloria now was asking for $1500 pesos for the pleasure of sharing her body with me. She said that the reason she needed this amount is because she is the single mother of a one year old boy. My friend told her that it was her choice to have this baby and it was not ours.
My friend told me that amount of money is a fortune for the women in this poor area of Mexico. I then suggested to my friend that we drop the young lady off on the side of the road about 20 miles outside of town so she could have the pleasure of walking home. Jose agreed with me that she deserved such treatment. However, we decided to be a little more generous than that.
When we dropped her off at her friends house in Obregon, I offered her 10X less ($150 pesos) and she refused to take it. I think she was more proud than smart. The $150 pesos could have bought a lot of milk for her baby. Pobrecito!!
After dropping Gloria off, Jose and I went to Karen's house to see if she was interested in spending the evening with me. Indeed she was and off we went to another no tell motel. You will find pics of lovely, nineteen year old Karen in my other Obregon trip reports.
She seemed genuinely happy to see me and treated me like an old friend. She asked me when I had arrived in Obregon and how long I was staying. She was sad to hear that we had to leave that night. She was eager to find out when I would take my next trip to Hermosillo and said she would like to meet me there on my next visit.
We had a great time in a place called El Castillo on the south side of Obregon. This motel was not much better than one I stayed at the previous day (Laguna) and I could not recommend it. In Obregon, I have yet to find any no tell motels as nice as the ones I stay in when I visit Hermosillo. However, it was good enough for a few hours of drinking and partying and only cost $200 pesos for the night.
Karen is still addicted to the meth, unfortunately. They tell me it is very difficult to kick the cystal habit. I would never even think of trying it out of fear of becoming addicted myself. As you can imagine, the meth epidemic is even greater in Mexico than the U.S. as it is so plentiful there. Even one of Jose's brothers in law is addicted to it.
As I have already posted many other pics of young, lovely Karen in my other reports on Obregon I did not take any more of her on this trip.
I would like to return to Obregon to further explore and enjoy it's treasure trove of lovely female flesh as well as the great seafood and the natural beauty of the island. However, I plan on waiting until the weather cools off a little. Perhaps in December?

Brewmeistebro, Nice reports. I apologize for never answering your PM two years ago, and also for screwing up your name in a recent chat post. I did to to Hermosillo, but the trip got cut short and there wasn't much worth writing about.
Ever the glutton for punishment, I am thinking of visiting Hermosillo and Obregon in late September. It sounds like in Obregon I can expect Hermosillo temperatures with higher humidity. You indicated you won't be going back until December, but if you change your mind and will be there later this month, let me know.

Brewmeisterbro,
Once again, a very detailed and entertaining Trip Report. Of the few times I've visited Obregon, I've never heard of these places you mentioned, nor was I aware of the beach area there.
You seemed to have a lot of fun with Gloria. She certainly seemed a very nice charming lady. I never saw any chicas that pretty when I was there. She looks like a keeper. Are you going to see her again when you go back?
How were you able to withstand the heat in Obregon at this time of year? It must have been hell. I realize Arizona is just as hot, but Obregon is extremely humid during this heat season.
Nice pics and great report. Seems like you've really fallen in love with the state of Sonora. You seem to have more fun every time you return to your "secret little playground."
Good work. Keep posting.
Sincerely,
Master Bates.

Thanks for the nice words of encouragement brothers! I really enjoy traveling and writing a travelog later. Maybe I should do a blog on another travel website. I would edit out the mongering stuff, of course!
TO RATABLANCA:
I am pretty sure I won't be going to Obregon this month. If I change my mind, I will let you know.
I have some other contacts in Obregon I would like to try out and leave my Hermosillo buddy at home with his wife.

This should probably go into a different section, but since two experts on Sonora are paying close attention to this thread I'll ask it here:
Anybody know anything recent about Guaymas? I found an ancient post on another site that mentioned a bar named La Salsa or something similar. It was described as not a hooker bar as such, but a place where one can occasionally find p4p partners. The post said it was near the "Tres Presidentes" monument, so it should be reasonably easy to find if it still exists. I thought I might check it out unless someone posts with a good reason not to bother.

I visited that bar about 3-4 years ago. At that time I was not driving in Mexico and took the bus to Guaymas.
Another competing monger website (WSA) gave me directions to the bar you mention. I believe the tavern is still operating next to the three statues downtown.
It is definitely a hooker bar. The only women available the night I was there were pretty average looking and well worn. Of course YMMV.
I picked out the best one I could spot, maybe a 5, and asked her to come over to my table for a drink. I spoke less Spanish in those days but she was able to figure out what I wanted and we were soon in taxi on the way to my motel.
The best I could negotiate was a hundred bucks for one hour CBJ and fucky-sucky.
Never wrote any report on Guaymas or my experience there as it was quite unremarkable.
Since that trip I rarely even stop in Guaymas on my way to Obregon or other points south.
If you go, please write a report on CH or just a short entry under Guaymas. I don't think anyone has written there so far.

Brewmeisterbro, thanks. It sounds more like my kind of place than yours. Do you remember what time of day and what day of the week you were there? There is some Guaymas info on this site, but it is dated. I've spent some time in Hermosillo, but I have never been farther south. If the trip materializes I will write a report, even if it's a yawner.
One more question - I get the impression that the weather in Obregon (and to a lesser extent Guaymas) is Hermosillo-hot with significant humidity as well. Are mosquitos a major problem/irritant?

The rain has been extremely heavy the past two months. It has been breaking records in my hometown of Tucson.
I just returned from quick trip to see some friends in Hermosillo yesterday. There was major street flooding the likes of which long-time local residents have never seen before.
I believe the heavy rain was due to remnants from hurricane John, although I am not sure.
I stayed all night in a beautiful No-Tell Motel called Caribe. When I awoke and went outside of my room, the water was nearly lapping at my doorstep!!
Needless-to-say, I put my truck in gear and headed for higher ground as quick as I could!!
I plan on posting some pics of the flooding under an Hermosillo post later this week.
To answer your question in one word: YES!! MOSQUITOES LOVE THE WATER!! BRING ALL THE MOSQUITOE REPELLENT YOU CAN!! LOL!!
I forgot to bring any Deet and sustained a couple minor bites on my bare legs (I prefer to wear shorts). I just hope I don't come down with some dreaded disease like Dengue Fever or worse!!

RATABLANCA:
Regarding the day of the week I visited Guaymas.
I am pretty sure it was a Friday or Saturday night but I would not swear to it as it was about three years ago.
Enjoy the trip if you go. I highly recommend the Mexican clase primera buses if you decide to take the bus. You may even get seated next to cute chica if you are as lucky as I was on a trip to Mazatlan I made in '03!!
