This was my third time in Batam, which has become my preferred destination for good value mongering when staying for a week or more in Singapore. Since the company was paying on this occasion, I decided to upgrade slightly from the Goodway, where I had stayed on previous trip. I went for the Harmoni Hotel, which is ideally located in the entertainment zone of Nagoya, and has good facilities, including a decent sized swimming pool.
I arrived in Batam at around midday on a Saturday and after checking in, headed over to Lusy’s Oar House for something to eat. That done, upstairs to PP Bananas to assess the talent there. The place was dead when I walked in (3:00 pm), but the girls soon crawled out of the woodwork and proceed to put on a show for my benefit. The line-up was not great, but I was feeling lazy and couldn’t be bothered to trawl through the booking joints at this stage in the day, so I called over one of the cuter ones. Before long we were doing the business in their ST room, which features a couch, bucket shower, and not much else. She performed well enough and after we had finished, we chatted back in the bar for at least an hour before she wandered off and her place was taken by one of the less attractive girls.

I was still feeling horny after pop #1 and didn’t put up much resistance to girl #2. Soon I was back in that ST room dong my stuff again. I have to sat that girl #2 was quite a performer, as is often the case with those less gifted in the looks department, and we had a very satisfactory session.
Moving on from PP Bananas, I headed over to Rio Rita’s the nearby booking joint. The fishbowl was virtually empty at 7:00 pm on a Saturday. Either all the goodies had been plucked by the early punters, or more likely, things have got so rundown in Batam that his is the way things are now. I say this because I had a poor experience on my previous visit in October, when all the booking joints were empty – supposedly because the girls had not yet returned from their kampongs after the Ramadan festival. I thought I would check out some of the other establishments the next day, although in the end I never did, for reasons that will become apparent.
I started on a trawl through the bars in the same street. I noticed that the Classics Pub, which had been closed (apparently due to bankruptcy) when I was last in Batam in October 2006, was now open again, although zero customers. I did not stick around, and I suspect this bar won’t either unless it finds some killer marketing tactic to attract customers.
Then on to the Ice Pub. This seems to be one of the favourite ex-pat hangouts nowadays, and is also home to a lively FL scene. I could not quite work out the deal here. There were obviously far more girls behind the bar than were required to serve drinks. It seems you can get them onto your side of the bar by buying them a drink, and then negations carry on from there. Conversely the FL girls sit around eyeing up everyone who comes in and latching on to anything under 80, breathing and possibly in possession of a dick. I was happily sitting there munching my way though a bowl of peanuts when in walks a girl I had taken out from the Last Pub on my previous trip. I ended up chatting to her for almost two hours, whilst watching the door for anything else more interesting to walk in. I was not in a hurry to take Sari out for the night again. Last time around she had pulled a stunt by walking out of what I thought was a LT session after the first pop, claiming the 300 Rp we had agreed on was for ST. I was in no mood to be ripped-off by her this time. The pictures here are from that previous trip.

There were one or two girls I could have happily have gone with at the Ice Pub, but the night was still young and I decide to carry on with my pub crawl. Next stop was Steps. There was no band playing when I walked in and the place looked half dead. I did not even stop for a drink.
Finally, back to home base so to speak, and the No-Name music bar in the basement of the Harmoni Hotel. This was buzzing, with a reasonable band playing, and plenty of FL talent hanging around. I decided to make this my final stop of the evening and settled down at the bar with a drink. Plenty of unattached girls were making eye contact and eventually one, who I looked the look of, was bold enough to beckon me over to join her and her friends - one of which turned out to be her sister. To cut a long story short, we ended up hitting it off very well. Although she was only a 6-7 or so in looks, she had a great personality, was a non-smoker (hard to find in Indonesia) and spoke very passable English. For the rest of that night, and the following day and night, she played the part of a girlfriend 100%. We spent much of the day at the large Nagoya Hill Mall, including eating, shopping (bought her a sexy bikini) and watching a movie. Then back to the hotel for some fun in the pool and bedroom, followed by the now obligatory feast at the A1 pujasera.
We tried to find some entertainment for Sunday night but there was zilch happening. I had been informed the previous night that the Ozone disco at the Planet Holiday Hotel had shut down, supposedly due to repeated drug busts, but I suspect the economics were just not working. No great loss in my book. I am sure the Pacific is still going strong, but my ears couldn’t take that kind of punishment. In the end we headed off to the music bar at the Majestic Hotel before heading back for more bedroom fun. The following morning we each went our own separate ways. I paid her $200 SGD (she specifically asked for payment in Sing$) for the two days. Quite a lot more than I could have got away with for a normal LT FL girl, but a whole lot less than I would have paid for the same amount of time in Singapore.
Conclusion
It seems to me that Batam is fast becoming a ghost town, or at least the NED area. I am not sure of the reason for this. It seems to be related to lack of punters as well as lack of girls, but no doubt one feeds off the other and the area is now in a viscous downward spiral of decline. Nevertheless, I will probably continue to go back there as a break from Singapore until such time that the mongering effort outweighs the pleasure to be had.
From a personal perspective, I had an enjoyable weekend. I am not looking to notch up the numbers on a trip like this, and the relaxed pace of a GFE break suits me fine. Maria fitted the bill admirably on this occasion.

Ahhh Batam. Nice report. Looks like you had fun.
I probably have about 500 pics of your first girl - Nincy. She'd been there a while when I was in Batam back in 2005. Maybe she's got a 10 year contract with the folks at PP Bananas
