| Wanting to meet up with Zona regulars: There is a nightly (mas o menos) chat on IRC (internet relay chat), and it is a great way to get info about the Zone Norte de Tijuana and to introduce yourself to other Zona enthusiasts even if you have never been to TJ before. One success story is a guy from Canada who came down for a weeklong trip, had never been to TJ before, had never met any of the regular posters, but made some friends by being on IRC regularly for about a month prior to his trip and ended up hooking up with 1/2 of redsnake and actually staying at one monger's home for part of his visit! The cost to him: DIDDLYSQUAT. My suggestion? Don't be shy, read all the posts, respond if you think you have something to say. Email somebody if you would rather follow up on something they said in a less private forum. Most people I have met through this board are very generous people and happy to help out with info. Most are quite social as well, and are very amenable to adding people to 'our little group'. Enthusiasm for the Zona is usually the only pre-requisite. The irc channel is #aspt on undernet. If all this is new to you, I can't be of much help in walking you through it, but there is detailed logistical info in a link posted on redsnake.com posted by a good fellow named Curious that can walk you through the whole process. If you make a little effort to fit in ahead of time to the internet whoremonger community, I think you may get better responses to your overtures to meeting up with people than the standard 'free beer' offer. That's only gonna attract the hardcore alcoholics -- LIKE ME!!! Also, if people know a little bit about you, you sound a lot less like a whacko pervert than if your first post is something like 'who takes it up the ass???'.
