| : "The airport is a good 12-15 miles from the San Ysidro crossing and the Zona Norte." : Which airport is that? The Tijuana airport is maybe 2 miles in a straight line on the map. Maybe 4~5 by car. Easy to drive to. After crossing the border or getting in a cab at the Taxi station, hang to the far right going over the bridge, take a left at the totally fucked traffic circle just past Plaza Rio, follow that road all the way back to the border fence, go right and your there. No way more than 10 bucks unless the cabbie screws you. 4-5 miles? NO WAY. It's more than a mile to the 'totally fucked traffic circle' at Plaza Rio you mention, and then it's a GOOD 5-6 miles zigzagging up that hill before you even get to the long straight stretch of highway to take you to airport parking. I guarandamntee it's closer to 12 miles than it is to 5. And if it's a 10 dollar cabride to the racetrack from the border, it's gonna be a good bit more to go to the airport. If you can get to the airport from the border cabstand for 10 bucks you are doing DAMNED well for yourself.
