| Lucky corrupt cops can happen upon a dude who really doesn't want to take a chance of having to spend a night in the tank. This is really what happened here. My understanding is prostitution is legal INDOORS, and with the consent of the property owner. Thus, i don't believe you committed any crime. Victimizing those who patronize the sex trade on Rev. is fairly common. These tend to be an unsophisticated type of consumer who plopped off the bus on Rev. and found themselves in a strip bar being propositioned. The TJ cops also know prostitution is illegal in the U.S. and so Americans are likely to deem it wrong, and not likely to report the shakedown. What I do recommend is that you do visit the tourist kiosk on Rev. and report the incident. If you feel a bit bolder, go right to the TJ police station. You may wish to assert that you were not in fact indulging in prostitution, but merely went back to your hotel room with the girl for some other reason, or just leave it unsaid (it might be embarassing to tell that to a woman at the kiosk). I don't think they will even ask, or that it would matter. The TJ police dept. does not tolerate corruption. Officers are fired for it. It continues because people do not report it. And it may restore you faith that there is at least some fairness down there.
