| Matiz, I agree with you on all points. Prostitution is NOT legal outside of the zones of tolerance. Cops can operate their scams with impunity on Rev because if you elect to go to the police station you will likely be placed into the system on a prostitution charge. I strongly agree with Powerslave that it is absolutely wrong to pay the cops but there is one important qualification...that is, if you are GUILTY of an actual crime! In that case the ability to avoid a record and possible imprisonment is more than enough motivation to play the cops' game. Even in this case it is technically "wrong" to pay the cops...but I would never condemn anyone who did. I also read that L.A. Times article and the writing is on the wall -- prostitution in the Revolucion tourist district has no future. I suspect many of the strip clubs will survive and on-premises acts of prostitution will increase (as they are in Peanuts & Beer now), but escorting a chica to a hotel may soon become unacceptably risky, if it isn't already. I agree with TJHombre and Rick Feliz that we need to encourage reports like Daytimer's. We all need to have this kind of information whether or not we agree with how Daytimer resolved the situation.
