| Cops gave me the patdown one morning when I got up from a zona hotel after an alnighter. I went to a nearby bakery for a snack and decided to eat my food and drink OJ on the shady side of the alley near the laundry. Two foot patrollers came over and asked me what I was doing. I said, "eating and waiting for a friend to arrive". They found a half 100mg viagra in my jeans coin pocket and told me it was illeagal without a prescription. They took ID, wrote in their little (unofficial) black notebook, and took me over to a telephone on first street. They told me I would have to go to the station and see a judge and pay a fine. I was courteous, played along and just waited them out. I offered nothing as if I did not know anything about bribes etc. After standing by the telephone for twenty minutes after their "call in", one of the partners put his walkie-talkie up to his ear and told his partner they need to go up first street for something going down. They told me to move on and left. I walked around the block and saw them just walking the zona beat. I don't know to this day if the viagra is illeagal or not but I thought if i was going to pay fine better to do it with the judge than pay them. Chancy or not that's the way I played it, somewhat based on my conversations with the two cops. |
