Lakers is not as "the cause" of the demise of redsnake. This is too simple an explanation and avoids responsibility for the rest of us. We lost sight of the incredible value of what we had right in front of our eyes. Now we are reminded because it is gone. The flame wars were one aspect of a general decline. The truth is that eventually the site became too much bullshit for NCSnake. The rewards no longer outweighed the cost. All power to him for deciding to give it up. When I think of the future I'm hoping we can build a new forum. I would like a more active moderation than BP, but understand that requires more time and effort than I would give myself. I would be willing to pay a nominal amount as well as that would probably cut off the multiple ID syndrome. In any case I too hope we can preserve the redsnake archives and develop a new forum. The interest is there. Less we forget, the vast majority of posts were legitimate questions, informational and entertaining. There are many unforgettable mongers out there with something valuable to contribute. I can't learn about the hobby in any other way that would be nearly as time effecient, cheap, and accurate. I hope that wherever we go we remember the value of the enterprise.
