Strike Eagle, it is the substance of my comments that is relevant and not my identity (btw, I am not seeing as many familiar names on this board as you seem to be). Try to read the words and agree or disagree on the basis of the ideas alone and divorce them from personalities. I have seen the damage inflicted by familiarity, so I go the way of Rick Feliz and many others and remain completely anonymous so long as a personality like Lakers remains active. I will also drop this topic when a new home for us mongering net nomads is settled on. You are essentially telling me to shut-up because you don't know me. I, like you want to see our future home hold up better than the last so I am interested in the comments that have been contributed by you and others. For now, this topic is on the table and in the wake of the death of a great net community, it ought to be. I didn't intend to beat the drum this hard when I first posted, but others who share my outlook haven't participated much in this discussion. It has been dominated by established, credible, neutral posters such as BP, Nomar and yourself and I think another viewpoint needs to be represented. If the discussion was being led by Lakers or some apologist for him, I wouldn't bother to participate. It is the very credibility of those who have led it that drew me in to provide an opposing viewpoint.

If you care to, please expound further on my "attitude" towards BP as I thought my initial response was respectful and delivered with sincerity. BP himself added a short-tempered response. And is my comment that posts are subject to response the statement that inspires you to say I am adopting a Lakers style rationale? That statement is a mere truism - part of the nuts and bolts of "discussion" on the net or anyplace else. Lakers does insist on responding to flames that he himself inspires by his own flames or other behavior that broke the unwritten code of honor among mongers - not to mention the written rules of the site. Then he stands on his right to respond to anything posted when others counsel him to ignore the bait. True enough. I on the other hand did not flame BP. I simply expressed a contrary opinion with a portion of his post that I otherwise stated agreement with.
