| Juan is not banned, as stated in e-mail to him, we stated that the "Lakers" account would be disabled while we settle into our roles as moderators and establish our board presense. We are busy enough trying to settle financing of the board, troubleshoot bugs, agree upon rules, divide responsibilites, add accounts, skim posts, etc..., all in our FREE time, without having to deal with Lakers/Lakers detractors battles. We decided early on that we'd have to remove "Lakers" or engage in heavy moderation right from the start. Threats from Lakers towards another monger made that an easy decision. We all agreed it was the right thing to do and consequently was the most practical choice for us. Juan mentioned to us that he could create another ID for himself, to which we did not say we would disable or ban. Should he wish to post as "escaleras" or another ID, we have no problem with that as long as he abides by the rules (which are still in process of being written and agreed upon, by the way). For the time being the "Lakers" account will remain disabled. A primary responsibility as a participant of this board will be respect for confidentiality. In that sense, threats will be treated the same, if not more harshly, then reports of breaches of confidentiality. Information may slip out, or reasons for revealing confidential information may be innocent, it also may be hard to prove; however, a public threat towards another monger is for everyone to see, it implicitly threatens not only the named monger, but others who may have differences with the person in the future. It is conscious and the motivation leaves little to question. We do not believe Lakers revealed confidential information, but we do not know, all we know is that he threatened to do so no less than three times, yet felt that he had done nothing wrong. We plan to do very little moderation, but enforce that which we do. For the most part, everyone has been wonderful in keeping discussions civil. However, two accounts are pressing Lakers attacks and a few of their posts were consequently removed. They are both aware of who they are. This post serves as a request for them to chill out. We are still working hard to make this site successful, but at the same time we all have busy lives and are doing this without financial compensation. We thank you for your patience while we complete the foundation for this site and hope we can move on to more important issues.
