You guys are cracking me up!!! Right now, EVERY ONE OF YOU who insist on continuing the discord about 'rights to post', and such, thinks that TJH is 'against' you. Jimbo thinks it. Krico thinks it. (though to a lesser degree) and Lakers thinks it. The reality is that TJ Hombre is being VERY even handed, and is spelling out for each and every member the steps that he is taking to build this board, along with some general guidelines on ethics and behavior. He is doing his very best to allow the community to find a level set. He is allowing free discourse to take place, but has been clear that pointed personal attacks are not going to be tolerated. NOT BY ANYONE!!! He has banned the 'Lakers' handle, but not the person behind it. Yet TJ Hombre has made it clear that EVERYONE will be held to the same standard of posting behavior on this board. And, he's sticking to it. I thank TJ Hombre for doing his best to keep us up to date with the progress of the rules set and code of conduct. But, it is in my eyes very sad that we even need a code of conduct. Why can we not simply agree that this board is a place to come and share info about the pursuit of our hobby in Mexico? Is it so hard to let go of the personal issues between members? Is it so difficult to set aside the personality conflicts? Thus far, the attacking posts have been directed towards a non-participating member of our community. BUT, that is beginning to change. In the last three days I've noted more than a few posts that waged personal attacks at another member of this community. Do ANY of us really need to do this?? I don't think so. If you disagree with someone, state your disagreement, and MOVE ON. This is a place for our community to come to share info and experiences. Think of it as a club or a bar where you come to meet up with your buddies to 'shoot the shit' and trade 'war stories'. Behave as you would if you were sitting across the table from the person to whom you are posting. And, if anyone finds it so difficult to follow the most basic rules of conduct and courtesy that they simply can not abide, he can expect to be admonished by the community at large. To this point, I've not seen TJ Hombre do anything that the majority of the membership feels is out of line, and many guys have posted their opinions and thoughts as to the rules and expected conduct. In the end, if anyone is so unhappy about the way this board is being run, there is the option of starting yet another board. I'm serious about this. I don't believe that there is some rule that says that there should be only one forum on this subject. Though, I have to tell all of you, that I've seen this type of thing happen in another community, and in the end everyone came back together with boards consolidating. We all have much more in common than we are admitting. Let's focus on the common interests and leave the other stuff aside.
