Unless it was four or five years ago, there were enough people who went before you that you no longer seemed to be an alien from Mars to the people in the smaller bars and the SGs. The sheer volume of 'Americanos' who now wander la zona is geometrically greater then it was even three years ago. Hell, even a year ago, you would walk into Tropical and not see another 'Americano' in the place. Today, if you walk in there, it's almost common to see at least one other 'Americano' in the place. Your abliltiy to 'function' in this environment is also greatly dependent upon many of the skills and knowledge that you bring with you to TJ. To plop someone with no Spanish skills into the middle of Tropical would doom that individual to confusion, frustration and probable failure in achieving the goals of our hobby. It's not serious. It's just the reality of la zona.
