I found Daytimer's post in question in TJHombre archive.

http://birch.he.net/~reunion/threaded/archive000922/cmessages/253.html

His experience was even scarier than mine, as the cops didn't give him a way out by the bribe for a long time. As for $260 vs $40, it was simply a matter of luck that I did not have much money with me. My cops did not ask me about ATM card, however.

As for the guys attacking Daytimer, I can't give them much credibility when a flamer accused Daytimer of being a moron, while admitting that he didn't know if prostitution was illegal. He then told Daytimer that the worst he could have gotten was a "warning" from the judge. I gagged when I read it. That's EXACTLY what I was trying to avoid at all costs. Fines would have been nothing, but seeing my name recorded in conjuction with a prostitution charge in a Mexican legal document would have been devastating for *me*.

I don't mean to beat the dead horse here, but I just repeat what others have said. "To each their own..."
