KRICO- Actually, San Jose is in the middle of the country located about a mile above sea level in a valley in the mountains. TJ climate is quite temperate and it is not very tropical in the city. The rainforest and the beaches are just 15-20 minutes away by small plane plane or a couple of hours away by car. Check out my posting on the Discus Board under Costa Rica and then Quepos. From San Jose the are many day trips from Volcanos, whitewater rafting, coffee plantations, to many adventures to named. All these day adventures are really reasonable priced. San Jose itself, at least the downtown area is a old conjested city during the day. But that is much of the charm of exploring it....so much activity and seeing the hundreds of beautiful Ticas(Costarica women)in the stores and walking about. The Ticas wear the tightest jeans. Most Costa Ricans{the men(Ticos) and women(Ticas)}take great pride in thier appearance and hygiene. Beachman |
