I always wear jeans in the Zona because (for a long time anyway...) I figured that they were the safest pants to wear. They fit tighter against your body, therefore they are tougher to "pickpocket"...Of course I've since found out otherwise....but I don't blame my pants of choice.

Here's my new concept for protecting my money....sewing in a special inside "rip-stop" nylon pouch" (with zipper)along the beltline. Those 3000 pesos that I lost would have easily fit into a space the size of a Zippo lighter.
The "inside-the-beltline" would offer extra protection and would force me, even in my more expansive moods, to open my pants in order to get the scratch. Since I won't open my pants in public, I'd be forced to go to the men's room to extract money in a discreet manner. Hopefully, I'm designing a fail-safe system here...
