Hmmmm.... I've been using my 'old' license for a couple of years, now. Of course, I also have a copy of my 0riginal birth certificate, and US Passport with me as well. Also, I'm pretty much a 'white boy'. I'm wondering if there is a possibility of some 'profiling' going on with your experience. I would suspect that anyone of Latin American decent might attract a tad more scrutiny than someone with blonde hair, blue eyes and a New England accent. I also have observed that those of Asian decent seem to garner additional attention, especially if there is an accent in his/her speech.
