It is beyond me how the San Diego Police Department gets away with this. Once on an early morning I went through a checkpoint driving into Mexico. Expired registrations, no license, etc were being pulled to the side. The officer asked for ID, registration, etc. As much as that was pissing me off, wanting much more to make it to the sportsbook by 10 am, it seemed business as usual. But then, the guy asks me if I am taking more than $10,000 out of the country, what I was gonna be doing down in Mexico, etc. A border checkpoint isnt a good place to get into an argument about the constitution, but I was really pissed. For the luxury of passing through the great City of San Diego, I have to let the city's protectors know what I am up to. What a bunch of crap. There used to be a time when Customs, Border Patrol, CHP, County and City, didnt see eye to eye on nothing. No interagency cooperation whatsoever. Whoever united them was a genius. This is the biggest gang around. I realize Mexico sucks in so many ways, but damn, after shit like that, going into Tijuana can feel really good. A taste of freedom.
