Fact is I'm terrible with names...I always have been. The minute someone tells me their name I forget it. Harry Lorayne, in his "Memory Book" points out that the reason most people forget names ( probably the most common social faux pas)is that they never really hear it in the first place. He recommends repeating the name upon first hearing it, then creating a visual image of the name, the more bizarre the better, i.e. "Camila" becomes "Camel", then fix that image in your mind's eye to a prominent feature of the person....Camila becomes "Camel" and I picture her two giant tits as humps on a camel...or I picture her blowing a camel...whatever it takes to make a dramatic, indelible picture in my mind of "Camila"...supposedly your "real memory" will replace "Camel" with "Camila"...the next time you see her...
