Krico, It's been a Long time since we've read such a 'black wash' generalization of any group who congregates in la zona. I'd have to ask you how much time you've spent talking with Street Girls. Just how is it that you've come to the conclusion that "they" are unlearned, and of marginal intelligence? While I'd not disagree with you about a general lack of education amongst "las chicas de la calle" whom I've come to know, I have not found them to be lacking in intelligence. In fact, in my admittedly small sampling, I've found a general interest in learning, but a sad lack of opportunity to expand their education due to lack of funds and time. Given the chance, mi amiga is eager to learn, as she has proven to me by example. Her friends have been following her lead. Again, this is an admittedly small group of chicas, but it is not a single incident. You find it difficult to communicate with SGs? Perhaps the fault is not theirs. Many SGs understand English, but will never let you know that. And, given that they were born and raised in Mexico, I'm quite sure that their Spanish is just fine. Though, I would doubt that you'd find many French speaking Street Girls, I'm confused by your comment about an inability to communicate. In my experience, to say that "they" don't shower is also far from accurate. At least in my small sampling, the girls do in fact clean up after each session. (they go to the bath room in the hotel they use) And, at least some of them even take a 'shower break' during their day. (I know some AB and CC chicas who aren't that fastidious about cleaning up) I'll agree with you about the hair do choice. I don't like it either, but it would seen to be attractive to the 'local' customer base. Were it not, they'd loose the bangs. The pantyhose are still a mystery to me. I might suggest that it could be a 'defensive' thing against going 'sin ropas'. This is a guess on my part, but somehow I'm almost sure that this is partially involved. The Street Girls that I know do not despise gringos, but they sure as hell do not trust us either. With good reason, they feel that most gringos look down upon them, and often feel that they are treated more as objects then as people by most Americanos. Remember this too, when guys get tossed out of the bars for being too drunk, guess who gets to deal with them? To criticize the performance and interest of Street Chicas in a general way is very narrow viewed. Based on what we've seen on the board, some guys find that they get good service, and some do not. I might suggest that if you go into the deal with a negative mindset, you're likely to have a bad session. (this isn't reserved for SGs, but is true of Bar Chicas as well) The '1000 yard stare is a clear sign that she's not into the session, but there are a million reasons why this might be true for the individual SG you've chosen at that particular moment. Many 'Chicas de la Calle' do have Health Cards. I'm sure that many others do not. I won't even speculate what the percentages are, either way. If in question, figure out a way to politely ask. When the Health Sweep took place a couple of months ago, lots of Street Girls were picked up for not having current cards. But, there were lots of SGs who did have them, and were allowed to keep working. In comparison, I might point out that out of all the chicas in CC Fewer than a dozen were left to 'mind the store' after the sweep. Over 40 chicas were hauled off for NOT having current health cards. (don't think that just because they work in a bar that this means that they have a current Health Card) Finally, I'll agree with you about the social class separation between SGs and BGs. I believe that much of this is based on educational level. Most of the Bar Girls tend to be from bigger cities and have had some educational opportunity. Most of the Street Girls that I've talked with come from smaller cities on the outskirts of major cities, or from rural communities with limited educational access. Your statement of the SGs being 'rancheritas' is pretty close to the mark for a large number of them. This is, again, a generalization, but based on my experience, and it seems the experience of several board members, many of the SGs are not from big cities. It's obvious why Bar Girls bad mouth the 'chicas de la calle'. But, I'm confused as to why you insist on continuing to do the same. It seems that, perhaps, you've had a bad experience or two. I don't know your MO, so I'll not generalize, but by the posts here, it seems that those from our community who like to spend a bit of qualifying time with las chicas seem to have more success with the Street Girl community. I'd like to suggest that if you are not interested in SGs, that's fine, but I'd also ask that you don't critisize las chicas themselves, nor the members of this community who are interested in learning more about las chicas de la calle. Some will be interested. Some will not. But, each of us are looking for something different in la zona, so too, are las chicas.
