I'm not sure the ratio of success Krico. But I tested it out this morning and I can tell you this... In demonstrating this defense, my buddy played the part of the Monger and I was the Ratero:While he was standing upright..I came up behind him and wrapped my left arm around his neck so that his neck was in the inside of my elbow, with my right arm I grabbed my left wrist and secured him in a firm choke-hold. Before he demonstrated the defense, he challanged me to position my head so it couldn't be hit by his headbunt...I couldn't do this without losing my grip on his neck. He then grabbed my left forearm with both hands...took two steps back..and headbunted me (gently) square on the side of my face. When he stepped back I lost my balance and my instict was to let go of the hold...but he had a good grip on my forearm so I was stuck as he headbunted the side of my face repeatedly like a punching bag (I knew what he was going to do so I turned my head, If I didn't im sure he would have broken my nose at the very least). After the headbunt I completly lost control and fell...he still held on to my forearm as he landed on top of me practically breaking my rib cage. At that point I just wanted to get the hell away from him...but once again, he held my forearm and procceded to headbunt my skull into the floor (gently...no one was hurt during this demo, although he could have easily demolished my face) I could imagine from the experience that if he stepped back and had me up against a wall..I would be in serious trouble because I couldn't let go of my choke-hold. It seems to me this method is foolproof...but judge for yourself. For your visualization of the demo: Im 5'9 170pounds...he's just about the same. My buddy was stationed in Barbers point on Oahu, I was stationed at Pearl Harbor although I was Navy and he was Army we got along and went out bar-hopping in Waikiki countless times. On a few of those nights I watched him get into barfights..lets just say I respect everything he says when It comes to fighting.
