Brother A., To paraphrase my brutha Slick, "I feel your pain, man!" Know right where ya is, 'cause I been there too, several times, but the catch for me is that maybe I was too damn stoopid to learn anything from it, 'cause I still cain't understand the guys who warn and warn and warn their brethren not to do what THEY INFACT DID! Don't get me wrong--I know our brothers hearts are in the right place, and Bless 'em for that, I love 'em each and every one, would give 'em all a big fat kiss if I could (and if I didn't think some of 'em would knock me out for tryin'!), but I think those brothers who have gone totally cynical about the whole thing, talkin' all the time about 'you ain't nothin' but a client, jack, remember dat! don't get played!,' being all reasonable and all that, they're forgettin' HOW MUCH FUN IT WAS when they was gettin' played (before they knew about the playin', natcherally!). My view is this, and I am wrong every now and again about things, so who cares what I say anyway?, but here goes: if you're into her, and you ain't so psycho about the whole thing that you're spending money you don't got, fuckin' up the rest of your life because of time and anxiety spent on her, but you're just into her, and you're hopin' she might be into you even though the evidence might be against it, AND AT THE END OF THE DAY AT LEAST YOU'RE GETTIN' LAID BY A FABULOUS BABE YOU'RE INTO, dude, LIVE THE FANTASY, GO WILD, *DO* LOVE A WHORE if that's what feels right! Way I look at it, in about 50 years or so, everybody on this list, those tellin' you to be all cynical as well as those freaks like me tellin' ya the opposite, WE'LL ALL BE DEAD AND IN THE FUCKIN' GROUND AND IT'LL BE OVER. Message: have a good time while ya can, and don't sweat the details. BTW, Brother Ritmo will officially be in the zona over Thanksgiving weekend--you'll know me by the fact that I'm up on top of a table at AB, singing loudly and out-of-key to some cumbia I dig, probably half-nekkid myself.
