If you can forgive me for comparing your excellent post to what has become a very hackneyed rubric (have you all seen the Gore one about the $10 haircut at the mall and the $300 suit off the rack?), the episode you described would make a damned good takeoff on the Visa commercial: 'Victoria's Secret, $49.95' 'A room at the Inn, $38' 'Crying like a baby in awe over your favorita -- PRICELESS!!!' I wonder if working chicas that are pretty reknowned for their negative self-image ever really get a chance to look back at it from the eyes of their happy customers and realize that the service they just provided truly brought someone else joy? It makes them the salt of the earth in my book.
