As I read the words, my initial emotional reaction was to lash out with a comment that included the question "What put a cob up your ass?". But, then, I stopped and thought about it. I really like the atmosphere around this place since we got a marshall. No more competing gangs riding into town, shooting it up, and attempting to terrorize the local citizens. Since the "chilling effect" of the old flame wars is gone, there have been some really great stories coming out. At first guys would start their posts with words indicating they expected to be attacked. Then when it didn't happen, the atmosphere seemed to warm up even more and some really great friendly conversations have taken place here. I'm all for it and am willing to do whatever I can to promote a continuation of the friendly environment. The stories are better. So, another reflection is that possibly he's carrying a grudge about a mis-understanding on the old board I had with him and his buddy Lakers. Another reflection is that this is simple meant as good-natured kidding and is an invitation to play. Another reflection is that this is meant as an invitation to a gunfight. In which case I'm not interested in exchanging insults. Doesn't turn me on. Although we've never met, another reflection is that he doesn't like me for some reason. Basically what he thinks about me is none of my business. Another reflection is that something I'm saying is bringing up some unresolved issue within him and his lashing out is his response to the internal pressure. Another reflection is it has nothing to do with me. He's been drinking, in a shitty mood, signed on and lashed out. Probably best to ignore alcohol-induced aggression or as they say "Don't antagonize a drunk". Another reflection is that this is an invitation to a conversation about an interesting topic in which I will learn something important. "Bienvenidos al Casa de los Esperos" (Welcome to the House of Mirrors). Regards, |
