I stopped in on Friday and bought a few things before going down. The prices are actually very good on a lot of items. The prices are actually better than the duty free in Ensenada or TJ. It's worth stopping into on your way down. A few things to note: 1. if you are driving down. They put a cone on your car that is picked up at the stop light before heading back on the freeway to 5 south. Directly to the boarder only. They take your drivers license info to be sure this happens. The only way out is to hope there are not a lot of cars and you can make it over to the u turn area. I have been told that they have spotters and US customs agents waiting for any one trying that. 2. If you are walking: On Friday they had escorts walking people to the gate. It will be interesting to see how long they keep this up. I will have to go see if the old duty free site is still up and running. |
