They are kind of like the taxis - they go when they are full. That is the problem - you have to wait until they fill up. If it is really slow, they will leave after 15 minutes when it is half full.

At peak times, they wait until it is standing room full, and it takes FOREVER to get anywhere because they end up stopping at every corner! THAT is why it is 4 pesos, and the taxis are 5.50 - it is usually worth it.

BTW, I got to be kinda an expert on TJ buses and taxi routes when I lived out in Colonia "Aguaje de la Tuna" on the Rosarito Highway. However, I've since moved further out(I've got an ocean view now!), and only sometimes take the taxis to "Porticos".
