You can encounter gypsies in many European countries. The ones in Spain are generally credited with the development of flamenco (dance, song, & guitar). Thought to have originally come from India, they were a nomadic people. It is debated whether they entered Spain from across the Pyrenees or across the Strait of Gibralter from North Africa. They were fairly well treated while Spain was under Moorish rule, but faced tremendous persecution along with the jews when Ferdinand & Isabela reconquered Spain. This was basically when they were forced into hiding.

Good luck with the name (I actually used it on the old Redsnake board, but have since changed to Conejo), it's a good one & should be used.
