Dame un breque...Spanglish otra vez...(Give me a break...Spanglish again)

I was doin' a search for info on massage parlors in TJ and came across an article that had the following quote from a "masajista", when asked about health inspections:

“Nunca me han obligado a checarme, en ninguna de las tres salas en que he trabajado me han pedido nada, yo me chequé una vez por mi lado pero fue por un novio que tuve que era adicto y tenía miedo, pero nada más”, comentó.

("Never have they forced me to be "checked", in none of the three salons in which I've worked have they asked me nothing..."I checked myself" onetime but it was because a boyfriend that I had was a drug addict and I had fear, but nothing more", she said.)

Looks like "checar" ( to check) can be added to the list of Spanglish...("Fijarse" is the operative spanish word for "check" as in "look into" but I don't know if it's used in respect to medical inspections...)

So the next time your little chiquita asks you por dinero, you can say "Dejame checar..." (Let me check...)
