The 2 times I have been mugged were on the sidewalk on Article 123 less the half a block from Revolution. The second one was behind the newsstand near the open plaza on the south side of the street and the first one was directly across from there on the north side sidewalk. The first one was on Thanksgiving night 1996 about 9:30 PM and the other one was in September 1999 at about 9 PM. I think the 18th there was a big boxing match (Trinidad vs De la hoya??) that night that ended about 15 min later. One of the best things I learned from the 2 muggings was to separate my money into several different pockets. The muggers were trying to work fast so as soon as they found some money in my pants pocket they took off. Both times I hade more cash in my jacket pocket. In face the second time I had four 20-dollar bills and my ID in my jacket and a single one-dollar bill in my right front pants pocket. Even tough the street was empty and I passed out from the choke hold they did not take the time to check the rest of my pockets.
