Ritmo, I'm not going to argue the validity of one research study over another or one AIDS related finding over another. It really doesn't matter what statistics we site, or what studies are done. The reality is that unprotected sex in any form carries with it inherent risk. However, you are missing the fact that EVERYONE who has contact with ANY of the participants shares this risk. And, remember, we're not just talking about AIDS, but herpes, genital warts, and all of the common bacteriological ailments as well. Someone earlier pointed out that with such a small community as La Zona in TJ, and with a fairly small population of 'regular' clients, we are All sharing the relations by doing what we do with las chicas. Thus, it takes one idiot from either side of the boarder to potentially infect dozens, of people. Now, I think we All know the risks. And, most of us take precautions to prevent bad things from happening. IMHO, it is irresponsible to suggest that unprotected participation in our hobby is no big deal. In my mind, protecting our little community from 'illness' is just as important as protecting our community from ratteros and crooked cops. Diego suggested that the AIDS stats are a little over blown, and, just as did you, I'd agree with him on that. However, Diego also suggested being safe and cautious. Which, again IMHO, was the responsible thing to do. As AIDS is just one part of the immunological threat we have in our community. I really wish that Dr. Dick would chime in on this subject, but I haven't seen him post in some time now. For me, being safe is the way to go. Not just for myself, but for all of you as well. I know for a fact that some of the guys on this list frequent some of las chicas whom I regularly visit, and I sleep better knowing that there is almost no way that I could be passing on anything that might not only mess up my own life, but the life of another member of our hobbyist community. Just my 'dos centavos'.
