I don't know. It would seem odd to me that there is any communication between the two, so I really doubt it. TJ would just like the money. Btw, I remembered later the article said traffic tickets can be paid by mail. They even have a U.S. address set up to collect payments from U.S. citizens. So the cop was likely bullshitting about bringing him in. But he would have been within his rights to write the tickets since he did say he committed the infraction. For me personally, I have never driven in Mexico, and I don't have any desire to. I use the cabs at night, and walk or buses during the day. As long as the cabs are safe, I'll keep using them.
