Ritmo, the HIV thread got archived but I really wanted to respond to a couple of things. First thanks for taking the time to write a well thought out response. Second I was not moralizing at all. I am living in a glass house myself (partying in ZN) so I try not to judge anyone. My attitude towards condoms has nothing to do with morals, it just has to do with not wanting to get sick or get anyone sick. If heterosexual HIV transmission statistics are overstated to scare people well then it has scared me into being a little safer. I have no problem with that. I did say I wish some of my friends would be use a condom. These are really nice guys who go every week and try for BB sex every session. One or two have been quick to explain that HIV transmission through condom less heterosexual vaginal sex is hype. The same guys are scared to go get an HIV test!!!??? That logic I don't get. I agree without risk taking you cannot experience life to the fullest. Your implication that I am conservative while in TJ makes me pretty sure we have not really hung out down there. (Insert happy faces) Yes driving is a risk in the US and in TJ and it is a risk I take every day. But I wear a seatbelt!!! It is such an easy way to significantly reduce the risk of catastrophe. Eliminate it? NO WAY, but really reduce the odds. I view a condom exactly the same way. Anyway, I know your post was about political spin and not an outright endorsement for BB sex. I will however continue to be one of the guys who wish all the TJ related boards would discourage BB sex. When I hear someone say occasional condom less sex with a prostitute is not cause for alarm bells go off. P.S. Ritmo I like your posts on music. It is such an essential part of the whole experience for me. Can you imagine TJ without the soundtrack to go with it?
