You will be required to fill out a form (or three), and meet with an officer who will ask you questions and verify, to his satisfaction, that you are who you claim to be. I THINK this is only possible during normal business hours, but I am not SURE of that.

They will also require that you pay a fee - NO CHECKS, BTW. This ranges from $45 to $170, depending on .... I am not sure what all it depends on.

You will then be issued temporary paperwork good for ONE entry to the U.S. of A.

You MAY also be required to show up within a certain number of days at the Federal Building in San Diego with your green card, or to reapply (if it was lost while you were in Mexico).
