The test given after the three vaccinations for Hep B to insure that it has "taken" is no longer commonly given. Over the years, they have found that the vaccination takes well over 99% of the time, with only a very small portion of those who receive it not getting the required level of protection. They also found that those who don't take on the first series don't generally take with further inocculations. Point here is: don't feel like something is being forgotten if you don't get the test. Some give the test, but most don't now. Just thought I would chime in. I am a former firefighter/EMT, up until about six months ago. The above information was passed on to me by my former medical director. He passed this along during the course of my receiving the vaccine. My dumb ass needs to start over with the series now, because I totally forgot about the third vaccination way back when. Been meaning to do that for a while, now I have a reason.
