As a lover of Mexicanas, I think you're pretty much right on. Women are women, wherever you go. True, Mexicanas may be more traditional and come from a unique culture, and they sure look great. But things are changing rapidly as a global economy, communications are opening things up. I think there is no question that the Mexicanas will be become more and more "westernized" as time passes. It happens slowly in Mexico, but it happens. I wonder when MTV will hit Chiapas. American women are more modern and educated, just like American men are. And, as a result, more able to take care of themselves financially and thus are more independent. Studies have shown that no matter where in the world you go, women are generally attracted to men that are older than they are, and make more money. This is true whether the woman is Mexican or American, or the woman is rich or poor. That's just the way it is. Most women want security, so if you don't make good money relative to them, oh well...no matter the country. I think American men are seen as respectful with women relative to other nationalites, especially in Latin America and Eastern Europe. We also enjoy a higher standard of living and make decent money relative to third world country women. Combine this with the fact that many men enjoy a more traditional type of a woman and it's no wonder we travel to other countries for cheap sex or mates. The thing is, get them over here, Americanize them, get them used to the American way, and watch what happens. I seen it with a couple friends where they certainly didn't walk off into the sunset happily ever after. Now I also know a couple where things worked out great, they are truly in love (or seem to be) and she stuck it out through thick and thin.
