Ever wonder why you don't meet Mexicanas named "Linda"? There are names like Alma, Blanca, Dulce, etc., that have positive everyday meanings as well as being a female name. Some ladies adopt geographic places, e.g., Kenya, Africa, America. One bit-titted AB blonde a while back even took the name of some unpronounceable Mayan temple. So you'd think "Linda", signifying beauty, would be a natural stage-name for las chicas: straightforward, carries a nice message, easy to pronounce, and familiar to gringos. Maybe some of you have a different experience, but I've never met a Mexicana who called herself Linda...
