Thanks to all for their observations. It seems that the key here is the border line and the I-5 snarl. I have driven I-5 from Chula Vista to SAN before during the morning rush and it wasn't that bad. I am used to Chicago. What's it like from the border to Chula Vista ? The other obvious key is the border line and whether the taxi can even get you there. With the new turn around area, I don't think the taxi will be a problem. The border line going out the door, sounds like 30 minutes. I have gotten caught in similar lines on late Sunday morning and that's about what it took. I guess I'll leave at 6:30. Rather be holding fav a little longer.
