First off, the number of gringos in TJ is much lower than normal, due to the holidays. The number of chicas in the bars is lower too, and the large number of chicas from Sinaloa is now a handful. Most of the chicas in the bars seem to be locals, or those from really long distances that won't go back home until closer to Xmas. Las Chavales was about half full at 11:00 pm. Not really too many chicas I would be interested in taking to the room. One black gringo was there, maybe someone on this board, but I don't think he spoke Spanish, got bored, and left. I ran into Cassandra later on, she was worth writing about on the 'discus' board. Earlier in the evening, I spent some time with a mesera/fichera Brenda, who was from TJ. As usual, she told the story of having a bunch of kids with a marido who eventually split, but was useless anyway. And, as usual, she told me that she had no novio, not desire for one. I think that no chica would ever admit to having a novio, someone in Chica School is telling the chicas that it is bad form to admit to having a novio. Frankly, I am amazed at the number of chicas who lie about their novios, but walk around with them during the day - or scream at them at the end of their shifts, in the hotel. Bar Tropical was a little more crowded, I think I saw Maria de Jesus there, and she is now one of the star performers in the bar, not a minute went by with her not with a client. I dropped in Miami, and the crowd was a little sparse. I sensed that there is a heavier crime element there, there seem to be a lot of younger chicas who have money, or access to money, with leather jackets, kind of hanging out waiting for their rich novio to drop by. I stopped by Bar Hacienda, which is kind of a low rent version of the Manhattan Club, although just as big a rip off. Almost zero chicas there, perhaps they all went back to Sinaloa. All I all, I spent about 6 hours in various bars, it would have been a washout except the encounter with Cassandra, who made it a very positive evening. |
