Any monger in AB sat afternoon had to take notice of the soccer match being played on the various television sets and the rapt attention the match produced in many of the chicas and all of the waiters (as well as the lonely Mexican ranchhands in town for the weekend)... Anyway, I'm watching the match and I see that the Red Devils (Toluca) win 2-0 over the Morelia Monarchs...yet just prior to being spellbound by another Nikki dance performance I hear the DJ announce that the score is Toluca 3, Morelia 3, and I'm thinking, what the hell?...and sure enough, on the TV screens the teams are lining up for a shootout...Now, I am not a total Mexican League football aficianado but I know enough to understand that shootouts occur only after I tie and I watched with my own eyes as Toluca won, in a dominating performance, 2 to 0... YoungBrig now has the scoop: for the Winter League Championship the winner is crowned by combining the aggregate score of two matches...Morelia defeated Toluca on Wed. 3-1, and thus the aggregate score of 3 to 3 referenced by the DJ...and thus, too, the shootout... Also: the win by Morelia was widely cheered inside AB...clearly, Morelia is seen as a team of the people (set as it is in legendary Michoacan, home of a million ranchos), whereas Toluca is the sort of team that appeals to bluenoses with D.F. connections...our little rancheritas in AB couldn't help but identify with the Monarchs... Nikki is one sexy little chica, by the way...take her out on to the dance floor, if you ever have the chance... YoungBrig
