I'm laughin' 'cause I just got my new system goin' here (workin' all day on the damn bastard...)so to test the new modem I get on the Real Player and pipe into XHUG, the radio staion of la Universidad de Guadalajara...Well, what they are playin' right now is some contemporary rock-a-billy en ingles...

I've gotten so used to salsa, tropical, and ranchero (eeeeeeh, mahn, let's not forget la cumbia, eh?...)that I'm kind of embarrassed when I hear twangy-guitared, simplistic rock-a-billy...when I think of all those great Mexican horn sections, the "street opera" style of singing and all that hot salsa they play at about 3 AM at Adelitas....

We might be ruinin' the Mexicans....with our cultural exports.

On the other hand, they were playin' some extended Coltrane sets a few weeks back...which also struck me as weird,...but for me, enjoyable.
