You have good reason to not get involved with a DUI. It is cheaper to take a cab from LA to TJ every weekend, than to lose your car, and $10k to the judge and his/her lawyer friend. Do not even think of mentioning Constitutional Rights to a law enforcement agent. That is on par with asking for a beating. Once you see the blue and reds in your rear-view, you are toast. Don't make it worse by resisting. If you do not want to take the test you can always burn the alcohol out of your system by running as fast as you can until they catch you. Hopefully the lactic acid and adrenalin will burn off any alcohol in your blood. Chances are you will just trip fifty yards down the road and get the crap knocked out of you. Question for oldtimers. In the 1970's when I was a bit wasted and got pulled over, the CHP would simply ask me for my keys. Next the cop would throw the keys into an empty field and say "Take it easy now." By the time that I found my keys I was pretty cold and damn sober. Does this sound familiar? The rest of the story-- I got popped in 1980 with a BAL of 1.3 I pled guilty, paid $600 to the court and $500 to a worthless lawyer. Spent one night in jail. Didn't drink for 10 years. Today MADD will crucify you for a coupla' beers. Cuidate.
