I don't think so, and it is not always faster, but it is a lot closer to the airport. However, crossing at San Ysidro and then taking a 20 minute Mexican taxi ride to the airport will normally only cost $15, unless it is rush hour. This would probably be the way to go if you live a lot closer to that crossing.
