yo,

i dont usually drive into mexico anymore. i used to drive regularly to visit friends and a girl i was dating (pre-zona days) about 3 years ago but i got pulled over a few times. i hate to haggle, but i never paid more than 13 bucks. if you have ca plates and a decent looking car, the cops will try to roll you. now if i drive in i drive my dad's beat up 70s volvo (hell the thing aint even worth $500). i've never been pulled over in that car!!!
i remember one time i got pulled over after getting lost in tj. i ran a stop sign at a significant rate of speed. as soon as i say "yo, was that a stop sign?" i saw red and blue lights. if i knew the language better i would have haggled but at the time i didn't know much. the cop talked about a fine and how i was driving fast. the cop tried to "tow" my car and he said that the fine was 100 bucks. he wanted me to pay 100 bucks. i just told the cop to "take me to the station", because i didn't have 100. incidentally, my friend in tj told me to say that because if you go to the station the cops dont get the bribe. i maintained that i was not drunk any he could not tow my car, and that i would follow him to the station.
eventually he settled for ten (after he closely inspected my wallet to see if i had anymore money. if you drive. put 10-15 dollars in your wallet. keep the rest of your bill somewhere else. and tell them all you have is 10-15. 10-15 may be too much if your a local. i hear locals can get away with as less as five (for violation) or just bull shit with the cop. i've heard...

cs out
ps the zona was ok today.
a couple hotties at ab were there. one even said she arrived today!!! had to give her the cs welcome.
