In the zone no. You will be pulled over very fast. I have taken Cadi's down numberous times, and no they were not old. I know a number of nationals that have very nice cars and they do not seem to have a whole lot of problems even with the US plates. It is more a matter of where you are. I do think you can take a nice car down and I have many times without problem. The key is to know what area of town to stay out of. If you take a lexus to the zone you will more than likely end up with problems if you can not get quickly into a parking lot. I have notice a few in the lot over the last couple of weeks. I even saw one of the cadi truck there. Although I would not drive these into the zone someone did. I have one car that I use just for the zone. I do not take my others any where near the place. But I do take it when I go to Ensenada or Purto Nuevo. I get stopped by the federal police for search a lot but have not been stopped by the local police at any of the places.
