Cimetadine (Tagamet) was approved over the counter at HALF the real dose. So 200mg twice a day is the over the counter dose. So if you are actually sick it won't work. The prescription dose of Tagamet is 400mg 2 times a day, or 800mg once a day, or the old dose of 300mg 3 times a day. Tagamet interacts with lots of things, including many other medications, NOT just Viagra. Its use as an acid blocker has been very low since Zantac came out, mostly because of the drug interactions.
