Series of disolves, an artistic montage, ...looping shots of flat but verdant Texas plains and aerials of river gorge (apparently phony Rio Grande...sure don't look like it do outside a El Paso...) rustic homestead with windmill, a few slo-mo galloping horses a la a bullrider's acid vision...Mexican-style music bed plays mournfully under croaky-throated voice over by male lead...who waxes "Gatsby-esque" over the way things turned out...the lantern at the end of the pier... P.(as in "puta")Cruz does one more "for the good times" (Ray Price sings Kristoferson), gets on train anyhow, after bursting into tears and barking "P" word at befuddled wrangler...rejects lonseome cowboy, for same reasons putas reject most gringos today...too taxing culturally...y tambien, su familia no le gusta la situacion...and Daddy-O gets all the dough...in De Efe... Finis...roll creditos... Hey, what was that movie all about anyhow? Machismo runs up against cheese?
