That would probably not be a good idea, unless it was a frequent topic of conversation that she showed interest in. Mexico is a very classist society, and most of the working girls, no doubt, come from the lower rungs, that are commonly shit upon by the "pure" descendents of the moneyed spanish interests. As far as gifts go, this could easily be misinterpreted as rubbing salt into very deep wounds. Also, most of the Mexicans I personally know consider themselves to be Indios, not Espanoles - although I am sure this varies from individual to individual, to at least some degree.
