I'm looking at my phone bill right now and am rather shocked and amused to see that 3 one-minute long phone calls made from the payphones along San Ysidero Blvd. in San Ysidero are costing me about 24 bucks - or 8 bucks a minute...I frequently will check my voice mail on the PacBell system while visiting la frontera, but will usually make the calls from public phones in the vicinity of "end-of-the-line" trolley stop in San Ysidero...I knew they weren't PacBell payphones ( although they try to imitate the blue and orange logo...)but I had no idea they were charging about 8 bucks minute...What a rip!...some outfit called ZPDI (Zero Plus Dialing Inc...billed on behalf of TCS... I saw no indication on the phone instructions what the rate would be... I think the solution to this may be to use only pe-paid calling cards on the Mexican side...but I'll sure never use those payphones in San Ysidero again... KRICO
